Today's forecast: Boring.
My assignment today is to hang out at my grandparent's house and make sure that my grandpa doesn't pass out or anything. My prediction is that we will watch a lot of TV, sleep, eat only that which can be microwaved. Beds will not be made, dishes will pile up in the sink, and journals will be read, re-read, and updated more than necessary.
My mom's ex-boyfriend just got here. It has been years since they dated after my parents got divorced but he still does some work for my grandparents. It is strange to see him now. I think he avoids talking to me, or rather, we avoid talking to each other. I don't mind saying hi, but other than that I don't think I have anything to say to him and there are a few things he should have to say to me, but I'm not expecting anything from him. I wrote my remembered event paper on him essentially, though he is never actually in the story, only the acknowledgment of his presence. I thought it was a pretty good paper. Not the best, there were definitely things I would have changed but I don't know what I would have done different exactly. Still, I was a little disappointed in the grade I got. From the other room I can hear that his German accent still lingers, but I refuse to get close enough to him to see if he still smells of cigarettes.
