i want something to go wrong in a tragic sort of way with this satellite business. i know that it's not dangerous in a global or even remotely large-scale context, but it has the possibility of so much irony. what if, having survived the nuclear and global conflict threats of the cold war, we are all killed by a remarkably cold war-esque spy satellite as it comes crashing to earth, causing major devastation? i'd laugh at that all the way to my grave.
