Songs
Around the same time I was finishing Professor Layton and the Curious Village, I was also listening to the cast album of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and a couple of songs made me think of the game (especially since the show has the same sort of time period-feel as the game).
Settling up the Score makes me think of Layton searching the town, especially with lines like:
"I've come to town, my ear at every door
I'm half the clown, yet crafty at the core." and
"My mettle will be more than tested
A debt'll be repaid before I've rested."
The opening line of Off to the Races ("Quick conclusions often lead the best of us astray") sounds so much like something Layton would say, and the verses sound like good set ups for puzzles ^_~ And Moonfall seems like the perfect mood music for the painting, doesn't it?
