Hello.
I'm very new to this whole LJ buisness, so feel free to correct me if I make mistakes.
I will try and take scribble requests, though I hope it's alright if they take a while. I will now attempt an "LJ-cut", so I hope it works..
I'll take a total of five scribble requests(First come first serve), and only from the first two games in the series, along with Older Luke and Claire. This is because I'm still in the middle of game 3, and no spoilers would make me very happy indeed.
After all, that's why the games are so fun: The excuse plot is actually a fairly short, but good and legitimate plot with production values(animated scenes, character voices) about interesting characters, and its just much less fun to play if I already know too many details.
The pairings I enjoy are mostly platonic, like Layton-Luke, Layton-Flora, Luke-Flora, and so forth. For some reason, just watching these characters interact in a freindly/family-like fashion warms my heart just a little bit. I'm also starting to warm up to Claire, those glasses are just too cute. I tend to prefer the dub of the games over the original, which is very rare for me. I think it's due to the fact that it doesn't really feel like an anime, and the dubbing is very good, so I'm not sitting around frustrated over "Why no Jappernese >:(". Also, it' set in England, so it would only make sense that the characters are talking english, right? And in a British accent, no less. I'm from Sweden, where foriegn films are subtitled, so having to play dubbed video games can sometimes feel very annoying.
Still trying to learn Japanese though, partially for the sake of the novels. If anyone knows a store that carries them, I'd be glad to hear about it. Now, however, I know what 3DS to get, since I've been wondering about which one would be best to get(It's not like this will matter in the long run, considering my plans for it), and now I'm certain to get the european one for Layton game's sake.
I've also started calling Luke "The beta version" while playing game 3(Again, I would be happy if commenters refrained from spoiling plot details). My favorite character so far is Anton, who's english name makes me laugh. I'm just going along with the "it's a nickname" theory, because Anton sounds too much like a little boy with freckles that causes mischief. I really like the music and atmosphere of Diabolical Box, too- It's mysterious and heavy, but slightly sad. One thing I really like about the character of all the games is the 70's-60's feel. It reminds me very much of a Swedish illustrator who's name evades me, yet I do know that he animated movies like Dunderklumpen and Resan Till Melonia.
