Chicago Ladies Vs. Gents Event!
Hi, everyone. I'm new to the community (just found it when I was looking for info about the Ladies Vs. Gents event in San Diego), but I thought I'd share some pics from the Chicago Ladies Vs. Gents event.
I have a close-up of the two actors in costume (who had "accents" as well), but I don't want to post it because I'm in it as well! (Apologies to the poor strangers whose pics I took!)
It was pretty fun. I got there about a half hour after it started and there was only one "lady" and one "gent" competing before my boyfriend and me, so we didn't have to wait long to participate. The organizers were discussing ways to bring in the crowds, though! My boyfriend (not even a Layton fan--kind enough to travel almost 2 hours by train with me so I could go!) got one puzzle right and I got three--which was the highest score of the day at the time. (With 6 hours of the event left after me, I doubt it stayed that way, though! There were only a few people written on the points sheet ahead of me!)
You actually got points for how many you could get correct as well as how many tries it took you to get it correct (it was sort of an honor system, although I did show the DS to my attendant each time she wasn't otherwise occupied!).
I also seemed to be the first person who showed up explicitly to participate and who had heard of the game before!
There were a few more people lining up by the time I left. I got the same t-shirt aria_san posted. In fact, my bf, not being a fan, gave me his, too, so I have two. I may give the extra (size L) to a friend, but if she doesn't want it, I may sell it on ebay.
