I am still alive...

Contrary to popular belief... I have not fallen off the face of the Earth- just got distracted a bit...

For those that would be interested in knowing... I am now the mother of my fourth child- a little boy who was born July 30th at 9:31 PM CDT. He was 8 pounds 5 oz and 20 1/4 inches long... that day almost 4 months ago. He's now over 15 pounds and the cutest thing. He smiles all the time- and is very low maintenance as far as infants go... he'll put himself to sleep in his bed and rarely cries. Started feeding him at 3 months and he has mastered rice cereal fairly well- his dad decided Green beans would be a great second food and he is currently experiencing those each evening. His older (16yo) brother is enamored with him but has assured me he doesn't want one of his own. His 12yo sister likes to dress him up and has subjected him to many changes and choruses of ooh and aahs when she gets him dressed in different outfits (he seems to tolerate it pretty well and usually manages to spit up on her to make her quit. His 6 (almost 7 years as she is quick to remind me) yo sister is also thrilled to have someone around who she can be the boss of- she has already started her torture process by sticking her face right up to his and baby talking at him- I swear he looks at her like he knows he will one day get his revenge and is just quietly biding his time.

I started a new job at the beginning of October- I do research for drug companies- you know the studies that determine all the stuff they put on the package inserts. It's different and fun and my coworkers are great. So it isn't that bad- and my hours are flexible. I go to Canada in a few weeks for work- just a quick overnight trip but hey I've never been there. At my job we dressed as Cruella DeVil and the Dalmations for Halloween- I was a puppy of course- and my boss, Cruella, won the costume contest.

My oldest son just won an award at school- the Prudential Community Spirit Award for his work with the autism camp- he wrote an essay about how he thinks it is special to be able to give back to the organization that helped him so much when he was younger. He did a lot of recruiting to get counselors to work for the camp and worked to train the counselors and at the camp he sort of just took charge of the counselors- and all the other counselors just accepted his lead- he was thrilled to win and now "compete" at the state level- if he happens to win that he will get a trip to Washington DC in the Spring.

My older daughter started a new school this year- she is now going to private/parochial school- she had a rough start with a few snotty girls at the beginning and also her idea of how much was enough work to do (she felt homework was optional for a bit there-lol) but now has things going well and is excited to be at school. She is of course still involved in Girl Scouts and was elected president of her troop. She is still in dance but has dropped some of her dance teams- she is now only on a Tap team and a drill/pom team leaving the production and jazz teams behind to give her a little more time to persue other after school activities. She recently won a troop cookie baking contest and will compete against others her age level from our city later this year

My younger daughter is miss independant most of the time- still falls into the baby roll when she feels like it though- She is doing well in school and only has trouble when she points out to her class that her teacher is wrong every now and then. She is in Girl Scouts - a Brownie this year- and loving it- she also participated in her troop's cookie bake off and placed 3rd overall (to girls 2 grades above her own). She is on two dance teams this year a jazz and pom team and loving it.

My husband's life hasn't changed much- still doing same job- but traveling a bit more with it.

The dog is still around- Hairy Potter has done good to keep the kids in line when they are outside. And every time the baby cries he lets us know and will go to the window closest to the baby and bark- he doesn't like strangers anywhere near unless we know about them- he really is protecting the baby- and when the baby is outside he is at his side the entire time and makes sure no one is out of line- lol

I've decreased some of my Girl Scout responsibilities and am thoroughly enjoying the freedom. Although I'm still doing plenty with having two troops and helping on the area level with a few events. I have "cookie" training this weekend...

Well I suppose I should go back to work...

a Belated Happy Birthday to anyone's birthdays I missed...
