Claire, wait! [The video feed opens to the view of green sneakers (Layton having accidentally kicked the device laying on the ground and causing it to start), and the sound of a clipped, British accent. However, to those that know Layton, those two words, breaking in tone, sound very unlike the composed professor. The shoes shuffle

Luke will be very happy to see you, I know.

Thank you for telling me. I'll try to get in contact with him as soon as possible, and find out where we are exactly. [Layton tugs on his hat, some concern passing across his face.] I hope I haven't worried him too much in the time we were separated.

Do you know which city you're in?

[Layton pauses in thought, before answering.] Unfortunately, I don't. Does this device record myself as well? If it does... [Layton turns the feed from himself to his surroundings. There is a church nearby, with shop buildings a distance away.] that is what it looks like around here. If it helps, I was able to find out the street name I am on as well: King Street.

Oh? That's convenient. You're in Dissimulo.

[However, Layton brightens a little bit at knowing the name of the town's he is in.] Dissimulo, hm? I haven't heard of a town like that before, but at least it is something to go on. Do you mind if I ask if you know where Luke could be, too?
Oh, excuse me, I should probably also ask for your name since you've been very helpful to me so far. These strange circumstances may be harrowing, but a true English gentleman should never forget his manners.

I'm not sure where he is right now, but I believe he is in Discedo. He did stay in one of the houses here. But I expect that he will contact you as soon as he sees your message.
Conan Edogawa. I'm an elementary school detective.

All right. It seems this device is much more handy than I first thought. It makes communicating easy, at least.
Pleased to meet you, Mr. Edogawa. A detective, you say? Well, I'm glad to meet someone else who probably wants to get down to the bottom of these mysteries as much as I do.

It has been very useful for that. People here are separated between three cities. There is this town of Dissimulo, a larger city called Discedo and another city called Spero. Discedo is only a short trip by subway away, but Spero is a longer trip.
Glad to meet you as well, Professor. This is a very troublesome case, after all.

Ah, I was wondering if you would know the location of the subway, Mr. Edogawa? It seems I'll be heading to Discedo to meet up with everyone and see where to go from there.
It might be my most mystifying to date. But, every puzzle has a solution and I'm sure this is no different.

...You said you were on King Street? I could come over and show you the way. I'm only a few blocks away from there. [Provided he could sneak out of here without Ran catching him.]
It's just another mystery, even if it is more complicated than any pule I have seen before.
Reply
That's correct. If you could do that, Mr. Edogawa, I would be very grateful. It would save a lot of searching on my end.
[Layton nods.] Indeed. I wonder what sort of thrilling solution could be in store for us? It must be something grand, considering the scope of this particular puzzle.

It is no problem at all. It will give me something to do today. I should be there in about ten minutes.

Thank you, Mr. Edogawa. I'll be right by the church, then.

Mr. Edogawa? [And then he sees the crutches.] Oh, I'm terribly sorry for making you come out all this way when you're injured.
