Boris last night was, once again, fucking amazing.

Seriously, this band is up there with Einstürzende Neubauten in the amount of sheer brilliance that they bring to a live performance.  Unlike the last time I saw them, I took the effort to get up close, nearly to the edge of the stage, and despite a couple of bruises from flailing and flying bodies, it was totally worth it.  I'm no guitarist (I used to sort of be able to play the main part of the Grateful Dead's "Ripple" -- don't ask), but just being able to actually watch the specifics of the band as they played was really impressive, and it gave me a bit more insight into which musician is responsible for which sounds I've been hearing on CD.  Also, as usual, the Baltimore audience was much more lively than when I saw them in D.C.

Jules scolded me for not wearing earplugs... and sure, I'll probably regret it someday -- but not last night.
