Completely random uninteresting musings
Ok, so. It's springbreak. In fact, it started yesterday. I need a to-do list so that I can feel slightly more motivated not to just waste my time lurking on internet forums and do things that are clearly more productive, like playing video games. I'm just going to post it here; because why not
1. Beat RD for the fourth time
2. Maybe start watching Avatar: TLA, in keeping with my current trend of actually watching shows that aren't animes. Ok it's technically not an anime
3. Watch the Tales of Symphonia OVA, because I never finished it.
4. Read Andew Loomis' book on figure drawing in the hopes that I may someday be able to actually draw some decent FE fan art (lol self, that will never happen)
5. Finish most of the FE 30 Days meme
6. Do my homework (... nnnope probably going to be ignoring this point no matter what)
7. Learn how to do lineart in Photoshop. Though it seems to be pretty much impossible baww self-pitying time.
8. Try to draw some fan art that isn't horrible. This will be very hard to accomplish
9. Pokémon dream world!
So far my only real accomplishment has been catching a cold though. In spring. What. Then again I caught a cold in summer last year, so I guess it's not that weird?
I've been debating creating a tumblr account and spamming it up with FE/Pokémon fan art and less-than-serious fangirling over everything. I mean, what's the point of having 5000+ pictures on your computer if you're not going to share them with anyone? Also, I could maybe follow all of the people I'm stalking so that I don't have to keep a bunch of tumblr tabs open the entire time. But on the other hand... I just don't know. I'm hesitating to do this for whatever reason.
Speaking of following... I kind of wish LJ used the same system. The mere thought of adding someone to my "friends" list makes me panic. Especially if you have to leave comments about it. I mean... friending people. That you've never or almost never spoken to before. That's just scary. And I missed that emblanon friending meme, so I can't exactly post there either, I think? So for now I'll just... keep these dozens of tabs with LJ's I'm regularly stalking open. But I'll delurk someday. Probably. I'll delurk when I get better at drawing. At least then I'll be able to contribute something to these fandoms. Somehow that would make me feel less guilty.
Also, on a rather unrelated note... I keep daydreaming about how awesome an FE anime would be (that OVA doesn't count by the way, nobody likes it afaik). Ok, actually, I had a real dream about it once - maybe that's why I'm posting about it. I'm a Tellius fangirl so that's what I would prefer, but honestly, an animated version of any of the games would be amazing! But especially FE9/10. It would have the best opening sequence ever (I think I have some kind of obsession with anime intros, really. I can't stop watching them. And I don't even like J-pop). With the song probably being based on Dawn Awakens. Or something sung by Akiko Shikata! ... huh, I really want to hear an Akiko Shikata-version of Dawn Awakens now. It would be the most amazing thing in the world ♥♥♥
Actually... I just wish FE as a series had more "fanservice" in general - by which I mean mangas, animes, drama CDs, novelizations, artbooks, general merchandise, etc (not the other kind of fanservice; absolutely not). It feels so weird, getting into the FE games from having spent a lot of my time lurking in the Tales of and Pokémon fandoms. Tales of in particular has a knack for really keeping its characters alive, having them appear in wacky crossover games and the pre-order bonus skits - but with FE, you basically only get what's in the games, and... that's it. Unless you're talking about Archanea and Jugdral (the Genealogy manga, in particular, is amazing - it makes feel so jealous). But the rest of the verses? They have almost nothing. It's such a shame.
(In other news, I made a Soren icon. Yaaay. It totally didn't take half an hour)
