b) i am reminded of how much i LOVE THAT TATTOO FIC AND HOW I WILL TREASURE IT FOREVER
c) ok onto this fic:
The Doctor pouts. "He needs you; that's very me."
already dying, and he's talking about a fish
"Doctor," she chuckles, trying to put the right amount of tenderness in her voice but unable to keep from laughing at him, just a little, because he should know this by now. "I look at everything and think of you."
i love this line. i absolutely love this line. it's so perfectly Rose.
(He left Sarah Jane a note, when he left this morning, and he remembers it with a pang of regret. He'll have to make it up to her later.)
THIS TOO oh my gosh leah, this might be my favorite bit? It's SO Doctor--he's so myopic, so entirely focused on loving Rose and impressing Rose and spending time with Rose at the expense of everyone else. He leaves his Sarah Jane alone on CHRISTMAS MORNING. it's terrible but i love it--one of my favorite things about the Doctor and Rose in any iteration is how unflinchingly selfish they are about one another. Perfect.
"Is that all you think of me? Rude, and not ginger?"
I'm making an "OH, YOU" face right now
He will murmur "I don't want to go" against her lips, more sadly than she'd have thought he was capable of.
I love this line as well--the way you integrate bits of canon into this 'verse is always flawless and I love every single moment. (Also, um, reading this line just exactly parallels my emotions from when I watched EOT--I don't want him to go either, selfishly want him to continue forever, while simultaneously thinking how perfect and wonderful of an ending this is. Leah, how do you do it?)
Such a gift. Everything about this is a gift.
