Chapter 5: The Hereafter

Part 2: Corpse Vale

These icons didn't stop being a thing! Everyone's in an abnormal mental state in this chapter.

Ionae is angry, giving her a bonus to attack skills but a penalty to all other skills.
PyanPau is depressed, giving him a -10% penalty to all skills.
Denever is nervous, giving him -15% to attack skills and +15% to defense skills.

ZOMBIIEEES

These guys are tough as bricks in general, and have a slight resistance to piercing attacks that won't stop me from using them since I'm really good at piercing.

Being undead, these things have a weakness to both Wrath and Swordfaith - I should fiddle with Denever's skill chains.

But the true power of the undead is demonstrated here. I JUST killed that thing.

It takes my party members around 24 seconds to get up after being downed. It takes zombies NINE seconds.

Fortunately, they only come up at about 150-200 HP, so if I can get them all down there, I can clean out the enemy party in seconds.

Also, these... things?

Whatever they are, they have loads of resistances everywhere, but no armor. Gonna be a bit of a pain, I do think.

After burning a path of holy vengeance through the undead, I need to switch to anti-large attacks for the Murmourdons.

Fortunately, they don't rise up as fast as the zombies. Back to the smiting!

UNfortunately, they get mad at low HP, and start doing huge amounts of damage. Once they get low, it's all or nothing.

Lots of ground to cover!

LET'S EXPLORE.

In the Admiralty House: Cloud Spawn!

The jerks have Chi AND hang out indoors, so I can't Swordfaith them. They're not Large, either, so I'll just be brute forcing them.

I'd... I'd better do this faster.

GOTTA HOLD OUT LONG ENOUGH FOR PYANPAU TO REVIVE

AND USE AURORA

Aurora keeps PyanPau standing for a full one doom bolt!

Then he's down again.

Okay, bit of a problem.

We're all back up and their HP is so low but so is ours COME ON

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH

YES

The enemies in this chapter are brutal.

We are rewarded for our suffering with sweet loot!

More violence!

But there's nothing back here.

Onwards! That was not our goal.

More new enemies!

These losers are undead, so I can lay down the law.

And the Foul Growths are Large, so once I take down the thing in front, it's over to anti-Large tactics.

Overall not the hardest things to deal with.

My reward for this field is the most important thing to ever give PyanPau.

He can be healed now!

Then it's just assorted enemies for the rest of the area.

I'll be needing the EXP.

We COULD leave now... but I'm not done with this city.

Trick to fighting Cloud Spawn:

Their beams ALWAYS target the backmost party member. Plan accordingly.

That vine effect, by the way, temporarily keeps an enemy from moving. Sweet!

...Shit.

Time to fight Urtat Underval the Unmoving Undead!

Strategy is an Undead Boogaloo of last time. Charge like it's going out of style, PyanPau and Ionae support...

Stop having Swordfaith! That doesn't even make sense.

THAT'S NOT STOPPING

YOU WANT SWORDFAITH THAT BAD???

TAKE IT

Powder Imps are saving me a whole mess of damage from that Circus Freak's attacks!

There!

Now we can focus on you, big guy.

ALSO nice to have defense against those Charged slay attacks.

WHAM

Rest in peace, brave knight!

Some sweet new armor for Denever!

More undead battling!

Next time: Politics!
