2 weeks notice! I wish I could say I’m the one that gave my job the 2 weeks notice but it was the other way around. I have 2 weeks to find another job before I become unemployed. “Your 6 months probation is up, you failed and you got 2 weeks left”. In a nutshell. It’s somewhat more complicated but not a heck of a lot more. I hate the mixed bag of emotions that comes along with less than pleasant news that can essentially do a ripple effect on my life. At the same time I have to realize that I can’t have the ups without the downs. Still, it’s been only 6 months since the last time I was unemployed and I am numb thinking about the possibility of going through the same shit all over again so soon. I don’t want to overthink this though especially anything negative because otherwise I’ll be paralyzed to the point of not being able to do what I have to. I was given the somewhat vague option of applying for other jobs internally. The upside is that I would not be unemployed. The downside is that it would be a demotion and doing something I want to avoid doing at all costs. It’s 6 one way, ½ dozen the other. I couldn’t do anything tonight because I’m too tired and worn out mentally and thus physically but I have to find a way to work that out. I’ll just have to take things day by day again and try my damndest to deal with it the best way I can.
No soap talk today.
SVU wasn’t bad. Christine Lahti is one badass ADA though. Wow. Eric McCormack was good to watch but as soon as he said he had a daughter half way through the show I knew she was the killer. She was one psycho child though stabbing him with the scissors. I saw that coming just as soon as her dad was like “Sorry honey I did my best but your still going to jail”. BAM! Right in the neck. “I’m sorry too dad”.
On DVD: Finding Forrester with Sean Connery in his usual Scottish brogue as a famous writer holed up in his apartment after writing one really, really famous book. Along comes this black kid from the hood who happens to be a really, really good writer and knows his books. The two lives collide and what do ya know. A pretty good movie is made. Not your typical rags to riches from the ghetto to the bling story. Not by far. I was impressed.
Next up on DVD: Smallville Season 7.
