here are 25 amazing cds.
AMAZING.
no particluar order, just great.
(i will number then for reference however.)

these are a few of the cds that i lived off of in 2004. i will list why the cd kicks ass, and what songs are even more amazing.

1: Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea


This is a great overall cd. Quirky lyrics, GREAT guitar, moving imagery, and it just kicks ass.

2: Postal Service - Give Up


I know this is cliche and all, but I love the electro-synth-pop goodness. You should too.

3: Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust


Amazing electronica at its best. Great for chillaxing, or party-ing. It just kicks ass.

4: Iron and Wine - Our Endless Numbered Days


Great accoustic guitar, amazing lyrics, soothing voice, = badass.

5: Manitoba - Up In Flames


Warm sounds, from an electronic album. Lush and beautiful, its like being in a rain-forest of music.

6: Alkaline Trio - Goddamnit!


The first person to tell me about this cd was jon lady. its one of those cds that you listen to at a GREAT time in your life, and every time you hear a song from it, you're back in the past. And its just a great album.

7: Ladytron - 604


The soundtrack to summer, 2k4. great electro-clash, fusing lyrics with bitching beats and awesome sounds.

8: Zao - Parade of Chaos


Pounding guitar riffs, sweet solos, and more double-bass pedal than is required. for the hardcore kid in you.

9: Less Than Jake - Losing Streak


Oh man. this cd is just SO great. punk ska was never the same.

10: Thursday - Full Collapse


Another cliche one, but still a badass CD. you've already heard this, i dont doubt.

11: The Weakerthans - Left and Leaving


This cd is another nostalgic one, and the lyrics are so deep and intricate its a beauty to listen to.

12: Radiohead - OK Computer


Another milestone of music. if you dont have this cd, you NEED it.

13: Thrice - The Illusion of Safety


fast and insane guitar, screaming lyrics, tubular cd.

14: NOFX - Punk In Drublic


gotta love it. its a classic, no doubt.

15: The Bruises - Last Summer


Our favorite waitress-from-one-world-turned-music-super-star and her best friend's FUCKING AWESOME CD.

16: My Bloody Valentine - Loveless


just listen. then it will all make sense.

17: Muse - Absolution


Another nostalgic one, but great dramatic beautiful music.

18: Motion City Soundtrack - I Am The Movie


Man, ive seen these guys play at bradley with allister like 90 bajillion times. this cd ownz.

19: Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica


BEAUTIFUL. music to my ears.

this cd is astounding, its just that fucking good. i love it.

22: Stereolab - Margerine Eclipse


great poppy french music. astounding.
Tracks to look out for: the whole thing is good. trust me.

23: Air - Talkie Walkie


from the guys who made the "virgin suicides" soundtrack, a song from this cd was used in lost in translation too.
this is amazing electronic beauty with emotion out the yin yang.

24: Boards of Canada - In a Beautiful Place out in the Country


ambient trance goodness. listen to it while doing anything at all, and it makes it that much better.

25: Mirah - C'mon Miracle


Beautiful, easy on the ears, great lyrics, great voice, perfect guitar, get this cd. and love it.
Tracks to look out for: You've Gone Away Enough; Exactly Where We're From

yeah. that took a while. but its alright. music is great, and everyone should enjoy it to the fullest.
