Hope everyone has a happy one--meaning, I fully expect to hear that you have not become statistics this evening, 'mkay?
I got home safely. Still have a hideous cold and I felt so sorry for the poor polite young gentlemen sitting next to me on both flights. It wasn't so much how frequently I blew my nose; it was more a question of whether I ever stopped. It was kind of gross and I know I wouldn't have liked it. Mostly, it's just the mother of all chest colds, though there was a scary moment yesterday when I thought my breathing was cut off and started to pass out. I actually started to think, "okay, what did the first aid teacher say about what to do if you're choking and you need help?" (Answer: if you have a landline and can't breathe, pick up the phone and slam it down a few times, unlock the door and stagger outside where the emergency crew can find you.) I've had pneumonia a few times, so I'm a bit paranoid about stuff like this.
So I'm a bit fuzzy in my thinking and haven't gotten much done. I was hoping to file a proposal, write a review, or something, but it isn't happening today.
I've got a couple of legacy chapters to review, and I'm working on the next couple of SC chapters. I've got a short (ish?) one for Elaine's last teen years, and then I'll be starting on Uni. I've actually played both the boys and the girls through the first semester. It's more that I don't know where I'm going in terms of the narrative. Stupid Sims, making my life too easy for me. HAVE COMPLICATED, ANGSTY RELATIONSHIPS, WHY DON'T YOU? Grr. Now watch, I'll have a Drama Professor-related meltdown. (Doubt it, though. None of my Sims are allowed to major in Drama, ever, ever, ever.) I also sent Cecil and Cecilia to Takemizu. I may have to send them again, though, because in an attempt to win over the Wise Old Man of Takemizu, I had Cecil do Tai Chi with him, and of course when you do that, Sims change out of their everyday clothing into their gym clothes. So he doesn't look quite right.
You probably have seen this, but just in case you haven't, it's the Taiwanese machanima "news" stories about Tiger Woods. I think
simgaroop put at least one of them up before. This clip is all of them edited together as narrated by Keith Olbermann. I could not care less about Tiger Woods and his marital problems, but it warmed my geeky heart to hear Keith refer to the animations as "Sims-like." I swear you will *recognize* some of those animations. Hang in there for Keith's "translations" of the last one--it's hilarious.
