Freaking TERMITES.
The problem isn't the poison gas so much (hey! I am still not dead!) but the "warning agent," chloropirin, aka tear gas, and the fact that they air out the place for five or six hours or more before they let you back in. That coats the whole place with dirt, dust, and pollen. So if you don't feel so great, it's hard to put your finger on what the problem is, plus there's the classic allergy season problem. If something is making you feel allergic, then obviously you must clean it up, or you will continue to feel bad. But when you do, you will feel much worse until it is all gone.
I was doing ok until my eyes started to water--possibly a hit of the tear gas from somewhere, although I'm smelling smoke from somewhere outside the house, and that might be the real problem. Regardless, I am having an asthma attack. There is no point in freaking out and assuming I'm going to dieeee. Even hypochondriac me recognizes an asthma attack when I'm having one, and I even thought about it in advance (not far enough in advance, but still.) I took a hit of my inhaler, and I'm just sitting here quietly on the floor, finishing up making my bed, etc., bit by bit. I'm hoping to have my bedclothes largely de-dusted and the bedroom mostly dusted and even vacuumed before it's time to go to sleep.
The hotel was kind of boring and unpleasant, so I went to dinner last night and then decided to go see Beautiful Creatures. It was forgettable, so I've already forgotten it. I mainly remember thinking about ten minutes in, "oh, great, it's this early in the movie and I already hate everybody," but all the Old South Spanish moss and stuff is pretty. Somehow they got Viola Davis, Jeremy Irons, and Emma Thompson to be in it, and they are really good and help the movie a lot. Next time, though, they should just let Irons and Thompson be in a Tennessee Williams play and forget about all the other stuff.
(I notice that LJ has foisted the new style on me now. What FUN!)
