Everyone knows it's Butters! (That's me.)
A couple of days ago, I was scratching my head and wondering why people were addressing me as male, and thinking "why is male the default gender? Well, I never!"
Then I realized that I had a male avatar and a screenname that's connected to a male character and that some of my email addresses also sound male, and realized, "oooOOOOOoooo, yeah."
I started this LJ a lotta years ago, mostly to write SP fanfic and put things that were just a bit personal. (My other LJ, moonyprof, is more geared towards Harry Potter and my real life job as a professor.) I didn't particularly want my co-workers and students to play "connect the dots," though honestly, it wouldn't be that hard. Later, when I started writing Sims stories, I had a breakout male character, and I already had this male screen name. This wasn't a bad thing, as I didn't want the kind of "you're a girl? let me me a jerk to you!" that I expected from male gamers and internet denizens, which largely hasn't happened.
Anyhoo, since pony fandom is heavy in gender politics, I thought I'd step up and say on the record that I am a lady type person and a professor.
