Or so it seems. This is my first post, and I hope it will get better from here. The party last night was fantastic. There were some really good costumes on hand! I hope to make my own costume for next year ;-)
So, the job is not going well. I guess that no job is perfect, but one can hope for at least a functional work experience. I want to quit, but if I do so, then I forfeit all comp time due to me. So, I would like to maintain in order to get a vacation this Christmas. However, I cannot imageine going through the Legislative Session with the same level of direction that I have been given during budget season.
I was watching "As Good As It Gets", and the title line "What if this is as good as it gets?" just about killed me. This cannot be what I have been "working for" for 28 (almost 29) years. It's so bad that I'm not sure I want to even talk about my birthday, and that, for those of you who do not know, is one of my pet peeves - everyone's birthday is special. It's the one day of the year to celebrate a sense of self. A holiday not shared (unless you a twin or have some freakish coincidence in your circle of friends or family) with anyone else. Right now I do not feel so special. I feel quite below average and very disillusioned with this thing called life. I think I saw this coming, and returned to grad school before it could really catch me. Then, I stayed in grad school longer than necessary to keep "the real world" from catching up with me.
*sigh* I suppose there is no escape.
Adam is the best. He just saved my entire entry to this point - don't ask...let's just say that I have the ability to highlight my entire entry w/o knowing I have done so until it disappears. Thank whoever for "undo".
So, now I'm faced with to leave or not to leave the anxiety inducing job. To go back on anti-anxiety drugs or not to go on them. To search for a new job or not to search for one....the list is exhausting. My worry is exhausting. My head hurts quite frankly, and I cannot get it to shut up - despite efforts to stop it.
Ever really want out of your own skin?
BTW, Blue Sky Organic Ginger Ale is definitely something to try if you like ginger ale or ginger beer. It's quite good, and it leaves a very nice gingery aftertaste - YUM!
