https://www.facebook.com/alanrickmanproject/?refid=52).
___________
This is a small letter of appreciation and mourning after the untimely death of Mr Alan Rickman, dressed not only to his widow, Mrs Rima Horton, remaining family, friends, and colleagues, but to his devastated fans as well.
We understand that the words of grief, shock and compassion are quite limited, and that there are already lots of them in this book. So, please, just accept our sincere condolences and excuse those of us who failed to express them in more proper words.
We were shocked to know about Alan Rickmans death, though somehow proud that he remained private and not wiling to share his condition with the rest of the world, preferring to use the time that was left to him for work, artistic creation and help for those, whom he considered in more need of it, than he. He was right: Fans wouldn’t let him do a single step without stumbling on a grateful viewer.
It is also very true, that for many of Rickman’s fans he became the most important actor in the world after his Severus Snape incarnation. This role showcased his thespian abilities, multifaceted talent, grace, and dedication to his profession, as well as readiness to fit in absolutely fantasy-like world, filled with hundreds of stupid children, and-inevitably-fangirls. Through this very role Alan Rickman kicked many a viewer out of their cosy nesting place, made them do something creative-be it drawing, writing, reading, or even fantasising. He gave them life. The same role in the star-packed film proved (through the same well-known fan reaction), that Alan Rickman was simply the best. He stole the saga from Harry Potter, and then he stole the story from Joan Rolling only by acting in this role as brilliantly as he did.
Again, we are devastated not to see Alan Rickman in his new projects, not to wait for his new directorial works, not to listen to his interviews and not to follow his sophisticated choice of films to act in or to direct. We are heartbroken.
Thank you, all Alan Rickman fans, family and friends, for being with him.
Thank you, Alan Rickman, for your being with and for us. It sure will be Always.
