The Radan Matter [warded private]

Miss Radan's revelation of her situation is most troubling; her suspicion that it may have been brought about by the attack on her last summer, even more so.

I have spent the previous day reviewing my notes on her--classwork, general attitudes, and so forth.

One could argue with some merit that she fits the classical profile for someone the DE might wish to recruit. While in Hogwarts, she pushed others away, felt alienated, felt hostile and bitter at not having been Sorted into the House she wanted. Much of this, I have only to remember; I need not even refer to my notes.

Yet she does not seem so embittered, now. Now, she exhibits a sense of humour that she never displayed as a student. She associates with others and they with her, freely. She merely works in the library, now; she does not hide in it or use it as a weapon, anymore.

If indeed Miss Radan was attacked by Death-Eaters, it is my hope that they have missed their chance, with her.

If her attackers were not Death-Eaters, well, it is a truism that evil comes in many forms.
