Ukitake Jyuushiro felt a bead of sweat run down his forehead and trickle into his eye, stinging it with salty liquid; he blinked in discomfort but refused to move a hand to wipe his brow.
His gaze was focused and intense, never had he concentrated so hard on everything; his hands were shaking and his brow was furrowed, nothing could distract him now.
He could feel the butterflies churning in his stomach as he waited for the decision to be made, a decision already out of his hands but which would affect the rest of his life.
Feeling sick he didn’t think he could bear the tension any longer and closed his eyes, this battle to be patient raging against a desperate need for the whole ordeal to be over; finally he opened his eyes again and instantly they flicked to his quarry.
Two blue lines filled his vision…
Relief quartered his every fibre as he literally sagged, the strings of tension holding him were cut and his face split into the widest smile possible. Half-dancing and half-running out of the bathroom he skidded to a stop in the main living room where his lover was anxiously awaiting his return.
Waving the small stick triumphantly Ukitake leapt into Shunsui’s arms and kissed him, tears of joy rolling down his face as he shouted out his happiness.
“SHUNSUI!!! I’M PREGNANT!”
