Dear Yuletide Writer...

Nov 16, 2010 16:35

Dear Yuletide writer,

I should warn you now that I am just barely concealing my excitement about this whole thing, and I expect I'll end up resorting to capslocky flail at some point during this entry (probably when referencing Jamie Parker's forearms or Andrew Garfield's face, oh my Lord), but I will do my best to remain coherent at all times.

The fact that you like some or all of my chosen fandoms makes you an A++++ person in my book, so you're on fairly safe ground whatever you write, but I will outline a few things that I especially love just in case it gives you ideas.

Things I Like In General:
Present tense, multiple sections from different POVs, UST (and lots of it), repression, angst and/or fluff (I'm a sucker for both), first kisses, slow burn, dirty talk, mutual masturbation, frotting, inexperience, self-denial, strong characterisations, physicality, literary or pop-culture references, things coming full circle, humour, killer last lines, need/shame/relief (I blame sophieisgod for that one), daddy isses (... and rayslady for that one), hesitation, nostalgia, phone calls, hurt/comfort, cursing, boys with ~*~feelings~*~, inebriation, Britishness (where appropriate), winter (and Christmas!), banter, flashbacks.

Things I Don't Like:
Non-consent, character-bashing, PWP, mpreg, watersports, scat.

More inspiration (or just pictures of pretty boys, if you like) can be found at my tumblr.

So, onwards and upwards to my requests!

The History Boys
Ship: Dakin/Scripps
Characters: Dakin, Scripps, Posner, Lockwood, Rudge, Akthar, Crowther, Timms, Irwin

Oh, this is the fandom of my soul. There's a reason I have "oh god scripps love of my life" as a tag on my Tumblr: I am absolutely and completely in love with Scripps as a character, in a way I haven't been since, like, being twelve years old and head over heels for Gilbert Blythe.

I'm a sucker for anything that explores the tension between Scripps' faith and his blatant, obvious lust for Dakin (I swear it's canon, I swear) and so something that explores that would be my ideal, but honestly, so long as it features Scripps being Scripps-y and wonderful, it will make me giddy.

Things I Like:
Gratuitous forearm mentions (because hello, Jamie Parker's forearms? Perfection), sexy praying, angst, not-wanking-but-wanting-to-really-badly, bonus appearances from the other boys esp. Posner and Lockwood, school uniforms, desperation, Scripps being sardonic, Dakin being arrogant but charming, one-upmanship, arguments, grammar, Scripps playing the piano, poetry, "Oh, write it down", Dakin calling Scripps "Scrippsy" or "Don", film endings, Scripps being head-over-heels and conflicted.

Henry IV
Ship: Hal/Harry Percy
Characters: Hal, Harry Percy, Pistol, Poins, Francis, Falstaff, Bardolph, Henry V, Kate

I am in love with the relationship between these two characters: Hal's grudging, and later generous, respect for Harry, and Harry's blind, irrational hatred and obsession. I think it's difficult to do this in canon because of the circumstances in which they eventually meet, so I am more than open to an AU -- especially if said AU is something with similar social conventions and power dynamics, like a boarding school or a business or a university. Mostly, I just want the tension between the two of them explored. Preferably in a way that leads to sexy times.

As an aside, Jamie Parker and Sam Crane ARE Hal and Harry, in my eyes, after seeing this at The Globe this season; if you're able to accommodate that, I would love you forever.

Things I Like:
Sam Crane's ridiculous curls, subby!Harry, casually cruel Hal, longing, pleading, appearances from other characters, esp. Poins, Francis and Pistol ♥, yet more gratuitous forearms mentions, characters getting dressed or undressed, plotting, youthful exuberance, flirting, Kate's "sexy cannons" speech, rage, subverting canon.

The Social Network
Ship: Eduardo/Mark
Characters: Eduardo, Mark, Dustin, Chris, Sean, Cameron, Tyler, Divya, Erica

This is my precious baby fandom and I am pretty much merrily wallowing in every aspect of it. That said, I think it's hard to do right because Mark's character is difficult to pin down, and it just doesn't work if he's too emotional, but I trust you, Yuletide writer! I love the dynamic between Mark and Eduardo, with Eduardo and all his ~*~feelings~*~ spilling out everywhere and Mark who just doesn't know what to do with them.

This fandom is all about canon for me, as tempting as it is to rewrite history and give them a happy ending. I definitely want a happy-ish ending for them, but from a canon perspective, so it would have to be set post-deposition. Or at least finish post-deposition; I'd love to see slices of their growing relationship, too, especially if it's full of glorious UST.

Things I Like:
Eduardo's face and descriptions thereof, longing, Mark being unintentionally cruel, a Mark who is sorry but would still make the same decisions, snappy dialogue, references to the chicken, angry sex, lift!sex, reconciliation, adoration.

Trinity
Ship: Jonty/Ross
Characters: Jonty, Ross, Dorian, Rosalind, Maltravers, assorted Dandelions

This ridiculous, ridiculous show managed to sneak its way into my heart purely because of Tom Hughes and David Oakes acting everyone off the screen in the Jonty/Ross storyline. I adore them both and I think the fact that there is such a tiny amount of canon means there's so much room to create something amazing.

There's no happy endings for these boys, so I'd love to see something that explored the beginnings of their relationship. I love that Jonty is only ever kind around Ross -- his whole face changes, softens -- and I love that Ross is the only nice Dandelion ever. ♥

Things I Like:
Dandelion antics, mentions of Dorian being ridiculous and brilliant, small moments of affection, lots of feelings, nice waistcoats, first times, Jonty being only gay for Ross, Jonty being only nice for Ross, them vs the world, domestics, adoration, worship.
