In about 7 months I'm going to move to Boulder, CO.
While there I'm going to attend the
School of Natural Cookery and and learn how to become a vegan chef.
So you'll all finally be rid of me. You won't have to worry about me or my feelings anymore. I do plan to come back after my 6 months of training, but I'm probably going to move to LA. And don't worry, I don't really plan on connecting with any of the people I've known. I'm just going to start over and try to forget my past. I hope while in LA I'll be able to find a good place to work or maybe even to start my own cafe.
I've been assessing my life and I've realized that there's really nothing left for me here in Orange County. I've spent the last few months alone and dealing with a lot of shit. I really don't have any reason to stick around anymore. The only thing thing keeping me in the area is KUCI. And I only stick around because I have a job to do. In a few months it will be my 2 year anniversary with the station and I think that will be a good time to part ways.
As far as the move, I don't really know what's going happen. I don't know how I'm going to move myself out there, I can only fit so much in my little car. Maybe I will rent a trailer or something to move what little I have. Other than that I don't know what's going to happen. I'm going to have to find a place to live and a job to support myself. It's going to be a real challenge, but I think it's good. I really need this. There's nothing here for me anymore. If it were possible for me to leave sooner I probably would, but I have to earn enough to pay for the tuition and the move. I'd love to say that it's going to be easy to leave, but the truth is that I feel like I'm ripping out a part of my heart. I feel like I'm leaving the best part of me behind. I didn't come to this decision easily, but I feel that there's really nothing left for me here.
My parents are worried that I'm going to stay in CO, but I do plan on coming back after my training is complete. Maybe then I won't feel so empty, but I'm not counting on it. My goal is to one day open my own cafe and spend the rest of my life trying to keep it going. I'm not going to put my heart in anything else other than my business.
I might keep some sort of blog of my travels/exploits, and if I do I'll let you know. But that's probably the last you'll hear from me before the move. I'm going to spend the next few months working as many job as possible to save up.
A big THANK YOU to all the people that have enjoyed my food. It's what's given me the confidence to become a professional chef. I hope to one day feel that sort of confidence within myself. Though we may not always get along, I think all of you are wonderful people and I love you because of who you are.
