Two loves had been taken from her.

That bastard had killed the only two people she had ever dared to love. He had taken her little brother, and he had taken the one man that had protected her, that had actually loved her back. She didn’t care that the pig she called “Father” was dead, nor the woman she called “Mother,” nor the fatass she called “Sis.” She had always wanted them gone; they had deserved their deaths. But not her precious little brother. He hadn’t done anything wrong in his four years. He had been the only one she acknowledged as family.

And that asshole had taken him from her. Yes, Leon had done some bad things in his life… well; killing people was bad, wasn’t it? Yeah. Scratch that, Leon had done a lot of bad things, but he was still a great man. By opening that door, he had saved her life; there hadn’t been anything in it for him, but he still saved her. He nourished her: fed her, made sure she exercised, he’d taught her how to love.

They were going to finally be together: he had even said it himself. She had worked so hard to get him to return her love, and when he finally embraced his hidden feelings, that bastard killed him. They were going to go move to a safe place, maybe the countryside? They were going to set down roots and have a happy life together. He had almost made it outside, to the safety of a crowd, when that bullet came out of nowhere.

She was so close to finding happiness, to having a happy ending.

“Where the hell do you think you’re going with that?”

She stuffed the pistol safely in her back pocket and tilted her head to the side, regarding Tony from over her surprisingly tense shoulder. “Where the fuck do you think I’m going?”

There were men on either side of her almost instantly. She looked up at them with half-lidded eyes, uninterested and unimpressed. There was a firm grip on both her shoulders, trying to shake some sense into her. “Tell me where you’re planning on going, you little brat. With Leon gone, it’s up to me to keep you safe,” Tony growled against the back of her head. “You plan on cleaning someone out? Who is it, huh?”

When she didn’t answer, he tried to shake her again, only to have her spin around and smack his hands from her body. “I’m going to go kill that fucker!” she screamed into Tony’s shocked face. “Stan! I’m going to fucking kill that bastard! I’m definitely going to get him this time! He doesn’t have anyone to protect him now.”

The room was silent for a couple moments until Tony broke the calm with his loud laughter. It wasn’t genuine, it was a bitter laugh. The kind of laugh you’d hear, and then the laugher would suddenly break into tears. She took a step away from him, bumping the back of her head against the firm chest of one of Tony’s men. “He’s dead!” He shouted. Instead of having tears roll down his face, Tony was red with rage. She tried not to show it, but she was getting rather intimidated by him. “Stan is dead! Leon made sure he took him out with him!”

She shook her head slowly. "No way. You're lying. Tony, don't lie to me, you asshole!" And she was gone, running out of the restaurant and down the sidewalk as fast as her twelve-year-old legs could go.
