Bright light city

I pulled the Triumph into the parking garage at about 10:45 on Saturday night. It had been a long drive down to Las Vegas, and Angel had offered me the use of a company car, but somehow, I felt this was something that I needed to take care of on my own. Although I did keep the Wolfram & Hart credit card, at least for the time being. That was one resource I felt fine about utilizing.

Locking the bike, I headed down the elevator and out of the garage, into what the guidebooks refer to as "The Fremont Street Experience". This was where all the cliche Las Vegas neon signage could be found-- the giant cowboy, and the place I was seeking, Glitter Gulch, under the huge neon cowgirl with the swinging leg.

Myself, I preferred the relatively more elegant and understated facades of the newer casinos, such as the Bellagio and the Venetian. But, this area was certainly the more likely to yield better hunting, both for the demonic and for people like myself, who hunted them. I stepped through the entrance to Glitter Gulch, immediately shaken by the volume of the music and the garishness of just the front area. I feared what it would look like inside.

I paid my entrance fee, then folded a $20 bill in my palm. One thing I did know about this city, it was that the tip was the one key that would open any door.

"I'm looking for a young woman who's meeting me here," I said to the exceptionally large doorman as I shook his hand. "Brown hair, very attractive. Most likely came in alone."

Without missing a beat, the man pocketed the money almost too quickly to see and pointed in the direction of the long runway-like stage. Faith was seated right up in front of it, directly in line with one of the brass poles. A topless dancer was currently leaning towards Faith, whispering something in the Slayer's ear.

Shaking my head at the seediness of the establishment, I threaded my way through the seats and took my own next to Faith's.

"I understand there are a number of much more upscale and reputable clubs of this sort in Las Vegas, Faith. Why here?"

((Open to Faith.))
