::A little surprised to see someone in a place like this, especially considering it was supposed to be his room::

Hey, you're one of the women I ran into earlier. What are you doing here?

Don't be so surprised. This room does sort of belong to me now.

By the way, I don't think I got your name before. I'm Edward Elric.

Does it? I've mostly been studying the metal in the bed frames...for scientific purposes.

I'm Ema Skye.

Scientific purposes, huh? You think you're gonna build something out of them?

No, not me.

My boss plans to create a giant robot for someone else to pilot. It's so fascinating!

That Dr. Horrendous, right?

Well, you're going to need more than a few bed frames to make something like that.

::Eyes are narrowed:: Horrible.

And we don't have much to work with on board the train. We're still trying to collect the materials needed for it.

You'll need to figure out where you're building it, too. I'm not sure it can be considered giant if it could actually fit in this little room.

You might have a point there...

Do you have a background in engineering, by any chance?

I know a thing or two from a friend of mine... ::Looks down a bit, almost seeming sad about something::

...But my main area of study is alchemy.

::Duly notes his sudden sadness, but decides not to inquire about it::

Alchemy? That's an arcane study! ...So, you convert materials into that of a different type, right?

That's right. I'm a little surprised you know even that much. It wasn't exactly popular back where I was previously.

Don't expect any demonstrations, though. I haven't been able to do it for a while now.

It was discussed briefly in my world history class. You'd be surprised as to how much a person could learn in the span of one year of school!

...Also, a demonstration..? I don't think you could do that without proper supplies, a laboratory, a--

You must've gone to a pretty good school, then!

Proper supplies? Nah. Back in the day, if I wanted to I could just clap my hands together and zap that metal frame into a marble bust.
