0700 Meet at my House (d’you like that Abe? I put it in military time for you)
Everyone HAS to be at my house by that time. I’m not joking. Yes, that is 7AM. I want everyone to be there because we need to pack up everyone’s stuff into the cars and such so we can leave at 8AM or earlier.
0800 We Leave Orange County
We leave for Big Sur, CA. It is approximately a 6-hour drive, probably less. It’s on Highway 1, north of Hearst’s Castle. Here is a description from the Chamber of Commerce of Big Sur:
It's time to plan a summertime Big Sur Get-Away! The Big Sur River is flowing deep and clean, flowers are blooming and the hillsides are green with fresh growth. While Big Sur's beaches hardly resemble the vast stretches of sun-baked sand that dot Southern California's easily-accessible coastline, they offer the visitor a wide variety of recreational possibilities.
Anyways, strap in for a ride on California’s majestic Pacific Coast Highway.
1400 Arrive at Big Sur
Once we arrive at Big Sur, we’ll divide into teams: cooking crew (I think I can predict who wants to be a part of that) and the camping crew. The cooking crew will cook us lunch while the camping crew erects (haha, I snickered a little) the tents and sets up the area.
1600 Go to the Beach or maybe just play around the area. Basically, free time.
Free time. We’ll decide what we want to do.
1930 Dinner
Dinner will be cooked by dinner crew. Clean-up will be done by the previous-camping crew.
After Dinner: Free time or bonfire or night hike or whatever?! Fun!!!!!

0800 Wake up Call
Wake up to the smells of breakfast cooked by campfire. Yay!!! After breakfast, we’ll clean up, take showers (although I would not recommend it until the end of the day because we’re going to be hiking and stuff), and pack our picnic lunches into the handy DAYPACKS that everyone brought.
1000 Hiking
We’ll choose which trail we want to go hiking after we talk about it and stuff. There’s either Pfeiffer State Park where they have Pfeiffer Falls
1200 Picnic Lunch
We’ll eat along our hike at some scenic overpass. Joanna will probably take her photo-whore pictures, and force us all to be in one as well. We’ll talk, eat, chill. Continue our hike whenever we feel like it.
1400 Inner-tubing down the river, playing in the river, etc.
Right next to our campsite, the Big Sur River runs its lazy course, providing a great recreational area. One of the cool things you can do is inner-tube down the river. It’s pretty fun and stuff. The store has inner tube rentals and the like. Then we can play or something until later.
1800 Dinner
We’ll grab some grub after a long day of play.
After Dinner: Same thing as last night-Bonfire or night hike or watch the sunset and be all romantico…hahahaha. And pack up as much as we can because we’re leaving bright and early the next morning.
2300 Lights Out
Although it’ll be a fun day, we have to get up EARLY tomorrow. So I want everyone to turn in early (at least the drivers) because we have a 0600 wake up call.

0600 Wake Up Call
Sorry, it’s so early. But we have to get up hella early (Hey, we’re in NorCal at that point. We could use their lingo) in order to leave on time. I might change the time depending on the time it took to get up there. If it was shorter than 6 hours, then we might have a chance to sleep in (but probably not by much). We’ll eat breakfast and pack away our stuff at the same time.
0700 Departure from Big Sur
In the mellow rays of the rising sun, we will leave Big Sur and say good-bye to the magnificent forests that sheltered us for the last few days. But although we leave the physical space of Big Sur, I am sure that it will never truly leave us-from the stories that we will share to the 1000+ photos that I’m sure Joanna will take to the wonderful memories we will make. *tear slowly trickles down my cheek*
Hahaha, jk. I am actually probably going to be really mean that day because we need to hustle. So I won’t have time for sentimentality. So that is why I put it on here. There are my real emotions. The angry barking that you will probably hear from me on Departure Day will just be a façade…hahaha.
1300 Arrival back in the OC
By my calculations, we should get back to the OC at about this time. Enough time for Joanna to run take a shower and go off to her little kidsies where she will make $40 for painting on children’s body parts while the rest of us unpack all our stuff and do all the work that Joanna leaves behind. Just kidding, Joanna! Love you!!!
Maybe we’ll grab lunch? I dunno…this is the one part that I haven’t completely planned out yet…hahaha.
Anyways, that concludes my anal retentive, obsessive-compulsive itinerary for our trip. Odds are that we won’t be following this much at all. But y’know…it’s worth a try to be a wee bit organized. If anyone has questions, feel free to give me a call or e-mail me back or facebook me. Just don’t leave me a voicemail. Because you’ll never get to me that way. Anyways, I hope you guys are excited as I am (which is very, very, VERY much).
