I think I'm the happiest I've been since I got to Nottingham. Things gradually seem to be slotting into place, and I feel the things I need are relatively accessible or not to problematic to find or get to, although Nottingham itself I find to be quite characterless which I'm not used to. Felixstowe has a cosy sea-side resort feel, Norwich has a indie-student vibe throughout the city and London is the place where anything can happen at any given moment. Nottingham just seems a bit drab in comparison. That isn't to say that there isn't fun to be had and ace people in the city and nice places to go, but just wandering around the different parts of the city, I don't feel any immediate affection for it. I think I can be happy here for a while though. I'm getting to know people better, I have my boyfriend down the road, can access good gigs and club nights easily, and the people I miss aren't too far away. I've even slightly warmed to my job, which is probably not a good things, because I should be taking steps to find something more suitable to my abilities and something that there could be a career fashioned out of, but it could be worse than ICS. The people are decent, tha atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and the work itself is piss-easy, and most of the time I'm on the internet or reading newspapers. The major down-side is I should be doing something a bit more life-enhancing and that the weekly rota system renders it to be very difficult to plan things more than a week in advance, but overall, I'm feeling comfortable there.

There is no particularly thrilling news to add recently. Last Saturday night was spent watching a girlie film called 'In Her Shoes' starring Toni Collete and Cameron Diaz and was trashy but more than watchable. I was in the company of Thom, Lizzy and Joey. On Sunday it was a bus trip out to Lady Bay to attend Sophie's Sunday dinner which against the odds was rather delicious. I met Sophie's horse Shammy who scared me a little and we got a little drunk in the evening, although we were never going to catch Chris up who was splattered before he even arrived. He'd been recording with Vim and Vigor earlier in the day. Immy was at Sophie's as well. Monday was more solitary, which I spent watching 'Rabbit Proof Fence' as I documented in the previous post. The rest of the week has been spent working and chilling with Thom in the evenings.

This weekend shall see another visit from one of my newest London friends Jon, and a trip to Magenta and Rock City is probably on the cards. I will be half dead at work on Saturday thanks to Magenta as I sure as hell am not planning on taking it easy at Magenta just because I'm working at 8am the next morning. Hardcore!!
