I might have jury duty tomorrow. I'm pretty nervous about it.. I have to call at 11:30 to see if I have to go in at 1:30.

22. You may need to have good ties with your doctor but this worked for me. I was selected for jury duty in my home state of New Jersey and I immediately went to my doctors office and got a note from my doctor saying that I suffer panic disorder. "Who doesn't"?? It's merely a stress disorder. I told my doctor that I had jury duty, and I felt like, what if I had a panic attack?? Unlikely, I would get one, but the Doc said, Do you need a note from us?? I said, it sure would help. I took that to court and don't even remember having to show the note. The excuse seemed to work like a charm.. They do ask if there is anything that would prevent one from serving, and they call those folks up first to hear their final plea's to get over on jury duty. So give it a try!! It worked for me..
Because if it doesn't.. i'm pretty sure i'll pass out.

62. The anxiety/panic disorder excuse does NOT work, folks. I LEGITIMATELY have this problem and the judge was actually crazy enough to inform me that she 'thinks' I'll do 'just fine'!! Can you believe it??? She is taking it in her hands to put me on some poor fools jury! I wouldn't even want ME on my OWN JURY! So maybe think twice before trying this excuse. And YEP! I even had a Dr. written excuse.
