It wasn’t that it was difficult to move, exactly. She just moved so slowly. It didn’t bother her, though. It was actually very calming. In fact, she realized, she’d never felt this peaceful before.
This, she thinks, this must be what heaven is like.
But then she opened her eyes and saw the blinding fluorescent lights above her hospital bed and heard the mechanical sounds of all the machines stationed around her bed to keep her alive.
She knew she shouldn’t be, that she should be glad to be with her friends and family again, but, really, she felt disappointed.
