Last January, I backed up my entries and removed them from the LJ servers. A lot of things happened in 2009 - I resolved some background issues that had been bothering me for a long time, I made some significant changes to my diet and exercise routine, and my eight-year relationship ended.
I decided to delete my LJ entries for a couple of reasons. First was a desire to have some closure, so to speak, on the previous seven years of posts. Given the changes in 2009, I wanted to archive the posts for my memory, and keep them there. Second was an issue that had been nagging at me for awhile, regarding online privacy. I had addressed some personal things in my previous entries, and as a result kept all my posts friends-locked. Given that LJ is hosted and administered by someone other than me, I just don't think it's a good idea to post anything that can't be considered public.
So here we are, a fresh start! I just spent three months working in Germany, and here is the photographic evidence:
