Who runs the experiments like the one that resulted in our ghost? (If ghost she is.) I doubt that they've stopped, but it's hard to imagine Komui and company being party to such business. Among other things, I find it hard to imagine the science division going on about the ghost stories if those human experiments really were still happening.
On the other hand, they don't seem the least bit surprised by the story, either. And... they are trying to protect the exorcists. One can imagine them slipping into a 'whatever it takes' mindset...
Wonder where this is going now that we've made a sharp departure in tone - not a lot of silliness in this chapter, after all. And for that matter, wonder how they're going to get out of this. (Although I'm wondering if Allen isn't faking. None of the others had time to actually say, "Oh, hey, I'm infected, sorry guys...")
