Since I keep arguing with him, I might as well promote him too. douglain's Last Week's Apocalypse is a book that I was supposed to review a year ago. Still haven't gotten around to it. I'm also supposed to review a book for Whispers of Wickedness and haven't gotten around to that one as well. My impression thus far is that it's innovative throughout. The first story is one of those stories like "Magic for Beginners" or "Calcutta, Lord of the Nerves" that just redefines what a short story can accomplish. I'm not terribly impressed with the other ones that I've read, mostly because the narrator is obviously douglain and I can read his livejournal for his politics. But the first story is worth the purchase price.

As usual this is cross-posted on book_pimp
