And now for the waiting.

Exams are done, I looked at my marks and they're all in the nigh 70's to mid 80's, which is great.  But now I'm at the stage where I need to wait and find out if I have a preceptor for spring ride outs.  As it stands, we have more students than we have preceptors and some of us may not get to do our placement this May.  It's not that huge of a deal ( Read more... )

Did a second day of volunteering for base hospital scenarios. This time I got to play the part of the candidates partner, which is a pretty tough role. The partner essentially runs the scenario and gives the candidate all the patient information they find that can't be simulated. So I had to do the usual partner duties by following my candidates requests, as well as giving them information about how the patient was presenting and how they were reacting to treatment. The idea is the evaluators are not supposed to be involved in the scenario at all and remain impartial to the whole process.
It took a while to get the hang of it, but my scenario finally started to shape up and I was able to run it pretty well by the time we were through about 5 candidates.

Afterwards I spend a few hours helping people who need to redo their scenarios. Their final evaluations are tomorrow, I'm really looking forward to going out and celebrating with them tomorrow night.

Still waiting on an email with preceptor information, as of right now there's still more students than available preceptors.
