I had no idea it had gotten this serious. This is an example of why we should communicate and learn to do so clearly with as little chance of misunderstanding as possible. I apologize if this is going to sound blunt and direct to the point of being offensive.
I don't know how each of you views RPG exactly. This is my personal feeling, but I could probably never allow RPG to get mixed up with my IRL feelings. The thought sounds nearly impossible for me. So you can pretty much do anything to me in RP and I'll still keep it separate from the friendship between us people who are playing the characters. To me, it's a given that anything done in RPG is simply for fun as interaction between the characters and not as anything personal between actual people. Unless, of course, there's anything that states otherwise.
With that said, I have no idea how you people feel about RPG. Over the course of RPing with you guys, I've realized that RPG can seriously affect some people IRL. I don't blame you guys for being affected. I understand that you and I are different people who have different priorities and think different things. But I could never have known that if no one had told me about it.
Therefore, I suggest that from now on, if something in RP is bothering you, say so. Clearly, in an OOC way to express that this affects you AS AN ACTUAL PERSON. Not just in RP. Otherwise, other people might be under the impression that it's you playing your character and they will continue the RP with absolutely no idea that it's making you feel horrible. The point is to have fun. If you aren't having fun, you should speak up for yourself because it's hard for everyone else to sense that through the net.
Finally, what is currently happening. I was under the impression that it was a drama moment completely in the RPG. I didn't know it was affecting people IRL. If one of us gets wind of something wrong with another RP buddy, tell the rest of us so we know. We won't blame you for "ruining the game" or "pulling RL wank into it". But it would be nice to know before things go too far.
I hope something like this won't happen again. And I hope we can all continue to have fun. This is the best thing net-wise that has happened to me. Ever. And I want it to continue, but I don't want it turning into something we're going to hate dealing with. Don't be afraid to speak up.
