Rah freakin' rah, Tonight was Craft Night.......

Monthly torture known (for me) known in my house as craft night, was tonight.
Every month on the first Sunday of the month, I get to go to my mom's parents house and either be picked on or no one listens to me. All while we each work on some kind of craft. Be it scrapbooking or crocheting or drawing... Whatever. But I've been told I can't write my fic at these things. Some how they think that if I'm writing I'm not going to participate in the conversation. But fuck that I take my fic writing over there anyway. Because one the don't listen when I have something to add to the conversation. Two, it the only thing I'm any kinds of good at craft-y wise, other than making certain kinds of beaded necklaces/bracelets (which I get bored with sometimes). I can't draw for shit. I can't knit or cross stitch. And I can't do scrapbooking yet because I can't find all the pictures I want to develop to use in the scrapbook.
So last year Mom got a Cricut for Mother's Day. It's a machine that cuts out these cute little designs and things you can use in scrapbooking or making cards or something. Now it's Mom's machine but we leave it and their house in the basement because we don't have somewhere to set it up here. So I can only use it if I drive out there (30 minutes away) or if we're going there for something else.
Well tonight I took my binder and WIPs with me like normal but thought maybe if I can figure out the Cricut I could cut some things out to use later. Well then while we were there, I saw the new Cricut cartridge that Mom got yesterday and I looked at a couple of the other cartridges and got a great idea when I saw that Mom had bought a sticker-maker thing.
SO I wanted to use the Cricut to cut out things like "BSG" and "Supernatural" and other fandom-y things and make them stickers and put them on my new WIP-fic binder. You know to decorate the plain black binder.
I got to cut 2 things out before other people took over the machine and didn't let me use it again. Some of them live closer to the grandparent's house than we do! They can come over one afternoon and use it! But NO I can't even finish cutting out what I wanted. I could've taken the cut-outs home and finished putting it together here at home...
Now it's just something else I got do when I go over there to record something from their DVR later this week. And Mom won't be there if the machine fucks up like it did at one point tonight. And of course if it does something like that, when I'm the only one there it'll somehow break the $400 machine and they'll blame it on me!
These people are nuts.... They have to have things the way they want and god forbid someone else wants to use something or give an opinion...

I will say this, my cousin Missy (the one who's pregnant) was really nice this week. She shared some scrapbook paper with me when I was picking out different colors for my idea. And later when we we're eating dinner her and her husband Jason and I got to talking about movies and such... So we made plans for me to go out to her house sometime in the next week or so to use her DVD burner on her computer. I'll put a bunch of episodes and things on my USB drive then I can share them with her and put some of these on disc. Course I'd love to have them all on DVDs but I'm not going to worry about to many til I know how much time we'll have or how much fits on a DVD.
Today was just mostly MEH. I think I'm going to go check out provideleverage then go watch TV for the rest of the night. I'll be back online tomorrow though to check out the LJ posts on my flist from over the weekend. Oh and those episode review thing too! I'll try and do those in the next few days too!
