oh the joys of adulthood
We went apartment shopping today in Virginia around the Dulles, Leesburg area. The first place was a total mistake. It was soooooooo ridiculously nice. It was RIGHT next to Dulles town center. The place was GORGEOUS. the clubhouse? AMAZING. 15 leather seater mini movie theater where you could come in with friends and watch videos and dvds on a huge projector screen. The pool, also a nice touch. The apartments, very cute. BAD way to start the day, haha, bc it was just the creme de la creme. It was on the high end, 1500 for 1 bedroom i think, but did you hear everything i just said??? What was my job on this tour de force? To be the aloof girlfriend who was interested in a nice kitchen and good parking arrangement. I feel like the man in the relationship. It was funny. The second place...EW. Let's start off by saying a tenant came in inquiring if someone was going to come in and fix the mold problem in the bathroom, "its getting pretty bad." HAHAHA. Yeah...no. it was dark and so blah, like what ur first apartment SHOULD look like, just something to hold you over till you make it to the big top, but Ale's starting there SO no need to settle =P. I sound like such a snot. Cause I am. And the pool, is only open tuesday thru sunday bc the ONE lifeguard takes off monday. DUMB. AND it was hard to find the street, if you blink you miss it, and it seems so off the main road. AND she didnt know if verizon dsl was available, she told us to call and check. PFF. THATS UR JOB.
moving on, third place, Windsor at fieldstone. Cute! It was in leesburg, right near historic leesburg and the Premium outlets. The pool, olympic size, a fitness center with like 6 machines (not like Ale would use it anyway). The clubhouse was cute, nice seating.oh it was funny, so the guy and ale are introducing each other and i have my back to them, totally engrossed in the world cup match. Ale is like maria, MARIA! and im like oh, hi. (shakes hands) and they're talking room size, price, etc and im just glued to the screen and so when its time to tour the model, the leaser says, maria its okay if u want to stay and watch the game. IM SO THE DUDE HHAHAH. but yeah, i liked the kitchen (score!) and it has a nice lil breakfast bar. no balcony tho =( BUT as always, i asked about parking, and its free range which is great.
Last place, great STORY. So its in Stirling. "Village at Potomac Falls" Cute neighborhood. Clubhouse is nice, little pool, its called "resort style". 24 hr fitness center with new machines. The model was great. dude the walk in closets are HUGE. we joked that ale could use it as a small office. Price is good too and its like a 10min commute for him to work. A lil pricier than the Windsor tho (which is a 20min commute). but everything is looking good...here comes the downer. parking. u only get one permit, and a guest pass twice a month. So i cant just drop by whenever. AND YET. my boyfriend pulls a classic Ale, instead of saying, well we'll think about it (like planned) when he tells her that, she says, thats fine but if someone comes in in the next 5 minutes and wants it, i cant hold it for you, HE CAVES and says, okay we'll take it! D'OH! But he forgets his checkbook for the security deposit...does maria have hers? Of course. so, once again, like a MAN! i paid. my relationship is weird beyond weird. talk about role reversible. and when we get to the car hes like, wait, that parking sucks. the whole point is for you to be able to come whenever. errr..should we have waited and thought about it? What about the windsor? Do you like it? SOOOOO tomorrow he hasta cancel the "Village" (we have 48hrs to change our mind) and call Windsor. The only downside with Windsor is he hasta wait till august 9th to move in (he starts work july 31) and the Village would accept next saturday. but WHY couldnt we have been adults and chosen wisely? MORON! sigh. there's my rant.
