Long weekend / Adde's trip to Chicago Summer 2005 :)
This weekend was awesome. I'm so exhausted but man was it well worth it!
B E W A R E! Long entry!
Let's get right to it shall we? (I know this is going to get lengthy but i just have to write everything down because I forget things -- so this is for my benefit too hehe)
Friday:
Friday afternoon, i picked up Jody and we went to a late lunch/early dinner. After that i dropped him back off at work. I went home and cleaned my room (from top to bottom -- it's spotless!). Jody got to my house at about 9:30 and we headed over to Brunswick Zone Mt. Prospect, where we met up with Jerome. This was short-lived, however because their rates were outrageous that night and they didn't want to take our coupon! > :[ (i never pay full price for bowling anymore... its not worth it!) Anyway, so we got turned down and just went outside and chatted with Jerome for a bit before he had to leave and meet up with some of his other friends. Jody and i then proceeded to Brunswick Zone Niles, where they did take our coupon! So we bowled there but our lanes kept breaking down! I don't know what the problem was but the guys next to us and the family on the other side of us were having problems too! Finally, after asking them to reset the lanes 2 times, we decided to ask them to give us a different lane. We were almost the last ones left, but we had paid for 2 games that we hadn't used, so we wanted to finish them! That was my Friday night!
Saturday:
Wendy and I got up early to go get Adde from the airport! Wendy got to my house at about 7:45 and we headed over there. It was perfect timing because Adde had just come outside when we pulled up! So we said hello to her and Wendy helped her with her stuff. We then decided we were hungry so we went to IHOP in Rosemont for breakfast! I had scrambled eggs (with cheese), bacon and hash browns and a side of my new obsession -- biscuits and gravy (thanks Jody :-P hehe). After that we decided to head down to the Lush store in Lincoln Park! We got there a little while before they opened so we walked around for a bit and then headed back to the store. Man, Adde was right! they have so many good things there! You just want to buy it all! But it's so expensive (but yet so good!) so i got a few things and so did Wendy. Adde was good and kept her hands in her pockets lol! One of the things i got was this lip balm called 'Honey Trap'. This stuff is SO addicting! SOOO GOOD! hehe
When we finished at Lush, we drove to my sister' Maggie's (memaggieb) school, so Adde could get her hair cut! My sister did a really good job and Adde likes her hair :)
By the time we were finished there, it was time for me to go home and get ready to go to my cousin's daughter's 1st birthday party! Wendy went home to relax and Adde and I ran to Factory Card Outlet (to get a card and a gift bag).After that we stopped at Kohl's @ Golf Mill, so that i could get a top for Sat. night. I ended up getting this cute salmon colored halter top which i LOVE! (except for the fact that it's a little too low cut boo! lol).
We then rushed home... I changed and then we headed to my cousin's house. It was an interesting drive... ("OH CRAP THAT'S MY UNCLE BEHIND US! CRAP CRAP CRAP...!" lol remember Adde?) too funny.
We got to the party and there were a lot of people there that I didn't know... Adde and I just sat on the upstairs deck and talked and had some food. My cousin Liliana talked to us for a bit too. None of my other cousins showed up, which is kind of crappy if you ask me, but hey... at least i came and so did Adde :). After the party, we went to Abt to visit Jody! I ran into Alice and Chirag and talked to them for a bit. i also showed Adde around the new parts of the store.
We then stopped at JC Penney to look for capris for me, but i didn't find anything. There were some jean ones that were cute but so expensive! Bleh!
When we got home, I showered and quickly got dressed/ready because i remembered that we had to go to a party for Jody's friend's graduation! So, Adde came with us of course! We got there at about 7:45 or so? We had some drinks and talked to Brian (jody's friend) as well as a few other people. We even got a tour of the house! (heh i still don't know why we did that -- do you Adde?)
We left there at about 9:30 and headed out to Alumni Club Schaumburg for drinks and dancing! We got there with no problems and even got in for free because we were on "the list". Joy, Wendy, other Wendy and Mitchell got there soon after us and they got in with no problems as well. Then, Jerome and Fez showed up too, but the bouncer wouldn't let them in the door because Jerome was wearing boots! How messed up is that? So they drove back to Jerome's house so he could change his shoes (sorry! i should have told you about the dress code but i forgot!) We stayed there till about 1:30 (was it around then?) or so and went home... It was a good night of talking, dancing and drinking!

Sunday morning i got up early and went to Church with my parents. Jody was supposed to come too, but he left his phone in my car the night before, so i was unable to get him to wake up on time (he sleeps right through his alarms). So anyway, i get home and there he is sitting in his car in front of my house! bleh. Well, we had some food and then got dressed to go to Six Flags (yes again -- that's what the season pass is for! Mine's paid for itself 3 times already). We got in the car and headed down there. Got there at about noon or so. Adde and Wendy were already there and were nice enough to find lawn chairs for all of us (yay!) So when Jody and I go there, we put on sun tan lotion and sat in the sun for a bit. We then went to cool off under the huge bucket, which splashes water on you. Then we all went over to the wave pool which was a lot of fun! After that, Wendy and i went to get food/drinks for everyone and Jody and Adde were tanning. Wendy and I waited in line for like an hour to get the food. It was insane! We finally got back to our chairs and drank the pop/tanned for a bit more. Then, we decided to go on one of the water slides. Adde stayed at the chairs because she was nervous about going on the slide because of her knees (understandable!) When we were at the top of the slide (almost) we saw Adde, so we were waving at her! She saw us too. The slide was fun -- it's probably the best one in the park! After that we proceeded to the Lazy River, where we waited a good 30 - 45 minutes to get on. But while we were on there it was a lot of fun. We were all splashing each other and dunking each other under the water fall (I got Adde lol -- sorry i had to! :) ). Oh at this point also, Eliana and Avi had met up with us (before we went on the slide). So yeah, they were there too.
After the lazy river we dried off a bit and then Jody and I went to go shower and change, so that we could leave and get some food. On the way back to Wendy's house, i got cut off on the expressway like 3 times and then almost got side swiped by some SUV going like 80 mph. The moron totally tried to get over into my lane and didn't even check to see if there was anyone there! GRR! So i swerved and honked. Then i cut him off :-D. Later on when we were getting off the expressway, he passed by me so i flicked him off and he flicked me off back! THE NERVE! Oh well!
We stopped at Culvers to get some burgers for Jody, myself and Adde. They were so good YUM! So then everyone sat and chatted for a while while i washed my face and did my makeup. We then headed to Cascade Drive-In On the way there poor Joy got a ticket! The cop was such a moron. I couldn't believe he pulled her over and then gave her a ticket... people were flying past us too! We finally got to the drive-in and saw Batman Begins and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I thought Batman Begins was okay but kind of slow. Then Mr. and Mrs. Smith was pretty good, so I enjoyed myself! Jody and I sat outside on folding chairs because we couldn't see from the back seat of the car. So we got drizzled on a little bit during the movie because it was drizzling on and off. No biggie! It was a nice night out :) We got home at about 2:30 - 3:00 that night!
Monday:
I got up around 9:15 - 9:30 and went to the Niles 4th of July parade! After that they always have a picnic at the park where they serve free food etc. so I went there. Jody met up with me at the park, so we ate lunch together and then went to get a beer at the beer tent with my uncle. After that we walked around for a bit and headed back to my house. We hung out there for a bit and then decided to go hang out at Jody's house. So we were there for a few hours and whatnot. Around 6 we left to go to Wendy's house. We had some food over there and then went on a mission to find some fireworks (smoke bombs if you will). So we drove to Target and they were over priced. Then we were driving back and i suggested we stop at Cub Foods (doesn't hurt right?) Well, i guess they had what Wendy wanted because she bought some fireworks there :) I was glad i made a good suggestion! :). We came back and did some of the fireworks and then cleaned up and headed to the Buffalo Grove Fireworks. That was a good time! Afterwards, Jody and I met up with Jerome and we went to Steak & Shake for a snack and to talk! It was a good, relaxing day!
What a great weekend! Best weekend i've had in a really long time!
Now we have to come visit you, Adde! Hope you had a great time! i know we did :)
