(no subject)
I'm still in Louisiana. Things have been going wonderfully. Thursday was great. My brother took the day off from school and we spent the day with my mom. We went shopping, out to lunch, and more shopping. Friday I spent the day with my mom. That evening, we had my grandmother's 80th birthday party. It went really well. She was SOOOOOOOO surprised to see me there. Her jaw dropped! I got to catch up with my great aunt and her two kids that I haven't seen in probably ten years or more. I used to see them regularly and then I went to boarding school for five years, then LSU for 4 years, then moved to NC two years ago so I don't see them anymore. I guess in adding all those years up that brings me to 11 years since I've seen them. They didn't even recognize me when they walked in. They said hello and moved on thinking that I was a relative they didn't know! The dinner was wonderful. First we had three different types of appetizers...Louisiana Wonton (MMM!!!), stuffed mushrooms, and baked oyster wrapped in bacon (i didn't like that one at all!). Gumbo was next....yummy! Then our salads...my brother didn't like his because it had nuts in it but it was a very yummy salad. Then came our entrees. We had a choice between a ribeye, a seafood pasta, or a seafood stuffed chicken breast. I along with most everyone opted for the ribeye. All of it looked delicious though. The sauce on the ribeye was wonderful also. Then we had my grandmother's cake. She LOVES lemon so we got a lemon cake from Maurice's in Metairie. Oh yeah her party was at Patout's on the lakefront in Mandeville. It's the old Bechac's if anyone knows the area. I guess Stephanie Marino may know all this! We took lots of pictures and I can't wait to go have them printed.
Saturday was great also. I spent the day with my friend Alana. I finally found some white capris. I found them at Express if anyone is wanting some really cute white capris. They have lots of different styles. We mainly did a lot of shopping. Oh but the greatest part of the day....we bought 15 pounds of crawfish and brought them back to my house to share with my mom and brother. They were really yummy. They were big and seasoned well.
Today (Sunday) I don't have any plans thus far. Alana is at Sam's with her mom and is going to call me when she gets home. I think we are going to go look at kayak's at Adventure Sports. She wants a kayak SO BAD! I just like some sandals I saw in the Adventure Sports advertisement in the paper today! Hopefully they are as cute in person as they are in the picture.
I'm not quite feeling "homesick" but I'm feeling like I miss Michael and I miss the "comfortableness" of being at my own house and having my car and being able to do whatever I need to do when I need or want to do it! And I know I'm going to be so bored on Monday and Tuesday when my brother goes back to school and Alana has to go back to school also (she's a teacher). But maybe it won't be so bad. I thought Friday was going to be bad and I spent the day with my mom and it was fine. But I kinda want to be back home already. I'd be fine if Michael was here with me, but he's not. Anyway, enough of that rambling! I'm at home alone right now and that's probably why I'm so bored!
