Freezers & Monsters & Ebay - oh my!

So how long is a freezer supposed to last?????

This is a question I really don't care to know the answer to. It may only be 7 years.

D. called me today at work to tell me the deep freeze in the garage was leaking and that the frozen stuff in there was soggy!

After I had her run to the breaker box to be sure we hadn't tripped a fuse and double check the temp setting and that it was plugged in properly - I figured I'd better head home to try to save what I could and clean up the mess.

I was able to get a good bit of it into our regular refrigerator freezer. But still had to throw quite a bit out and cook a few things because they would keep better after cooked.

D. did a great job clearing out space in the little freezer to make room while I was on my way home.

The thermostat was set to 4 - 7 being the coldest setting. I set it to 7 and things have almost re-froze at this point. Lee was spreading our freezer woes at work and his boss mentioned that a no-frost freezer is likely to defrost itself in a warm garage and not remember to re-frost itself. He told us we need to vacuum out the back and the filter and that should keep it working properly.

ugh

We watched the movie Cloverfield tonight. Those little things creeped me out more than the big monster - and the ending sucked.....what a let down. Oh well -

I admit I will have to sleep with my night light on tonight. : ( Yes.....I am a dork.

I've decided to start ebaying my life away. I'm just going to tackle it one item at a time and finally get my damn office stripped down to nothingness. It's time to grow up and get rid of all of my knick knacks, various collections and simplify my life. It's hard to let it go but it needs to. I feel like all of my stuff has taken over my life and my space and I want it back. My house is supposed to be 'living space' - space to run and frolick and relax and play in. Not just a place to store all of my crap that I can't enjoy because I can barely move around all of the boxes. It was hard to come to the realization that even without the stuff I will still have the memories that are tied to them....and someone else that has the room can benefit and enjoy those things better than I can.

I've got Hallmark Christmas Ornaments, Hallmark Merry Miniatures, glass menagerie animals, miniature soda bottles and some parfume bottles (full of liquid), shadow boxes and wood and glass display boxes, More black and white Holstein cow figures than you can shake a stick at including:Enesco Mary's Moo Moo's, various books, Springbok puzzles, Disney VHS tapes, beanie babies, childrens clothing, men's clothing, women's plus size clothing, odds and ends galore and I'm going to get rid of it all.

I was going to start listing stuff tonight but was sidetrack by the meltiness mess in the garage. Though I was able to get some things set aside to start listing tomorrow night. At least things are (temporarily) .....(are they ever really?) ...back in control.

One final note: I am happy to say that I have forced myself to squeeze the pleasure of reading in my life again. I am currently reading the book Gig It's been an amusing read that has really reinforced the idea of how we assume grass must be greener for someone else - but in the end for most all of us....a Gig is just a gig.
