indians unite!

so a grip of indians walk into a bar...

tonite i went to the laugh factory in LA with my sister, my cousins, and some of their
friends. i ran into nobu and sunny too which was awesome cuz i always love seeing those
crack ups, and i even saw this guy that ive been jocking hardcore since 2nd year... of
course i didnt say hi to him cuz ooh too hot too hot! still good eye candy

laugh factory was some good times! i finally gotta see that indian comedian that
everyones been raving about - russell peters. he is DAMN funny i can tell u that -
everyone who is brown should go hear him, and that includes people who are brown lovers
and hang out with us (yes im talking about u! u love us!) there was a two drink
minimum and everyone took full advantage of that. we all had drinks (i got a white
russian) and they even had a freakin water bottle they sneaked in, which i thought
was something only poor college kids do. my cousin and his friend had me picking the
drinks for them all night cuz they know i wanna be a bartender, i even convinced them
to get some adios'to drink so im pretty sure by the end of the nite they were both drunk.
even my sis got buzzed! good thing i was the driver! oh well, shes still normal when shes
buzzed, not crazy like me so it wasnt toooo exciting - but one of these days ill get her
good and drunk it'll be great! with the tickets and the drinks and the valet the total night
for me and my sis came up to about $130 (blame it on the cousin in law for reserving vip seats!)
but it was still worth every penny

i think what i liked most about tonite was that it was a whole act based on making fun of
people and their ethnicity. the comedians were black, japanese/indian, and indian, and the
crowd was predominantly indians and "asians", ya kno what i mean. and im so used to uci and
"diversity training" and typically id be all weirded out, but honestly, it was so GOOD to be
able to let go of that and LAUGH about it! i remember a couple of years ago, my friend and
i got into a debate about it because i got offended at something he said. and he was like
"priya, the best way to deal with those things is to laugh about it! that means ur not talking
it too seriously, and its not offensive." and tonight that was it. i hope no one got offended,
i mean i feel for the most part people came in expecting it! and while some things i was like
"WOAH did he just say that?!", it was still good to be able to let loose and not hafta stay
stiff while someone dished out something about someone's race... cuz tonite EVERYONES race got
dogged on. and hey, that makes us all equal then too right?

ps - tammy, im soo not panicking! so not!
