Do you ever think to yourself- while you are running an errand, say- something like the following: "Why am I here? Why am I holding this slip of paper in my hand? Why are the lights so harsh? yes, relatively frequently. This is a big part of why I love the Montessori prepared environment so much: everything is aesthetically beautiful and perfectly designed for its intended purpose.

There's a cluster of neurons, somewhere in my brain, that occasionally tells me, "you aren't really here and you aren't really doing this."

They fire once every few years.
