Question about "Fever" (for a fic I'm writing)

Jun 11, 2010 14:59

So I'm writing "Castle in the Air" and I need to know if the stone tower where DR kept Jennsen in "Fever" had a particular name. I tried to watch the ep on Netflix, but they're no longer available. (EPIC SAD FACE)

So if anyone notices it being called something, and whether it's a garrison, a keep, a Mord'Sith temple or what, please let me know!

lots character: jennsen, !question, fandom: legend of the seeker, lots character: darken rahl, !fanfiction, !canon question

Rahl calls it "His home" but other than that I think it's a MordSith temple based on the shots of the outside.

That's what I thought, but you don't see very many Mord'Sith around so I wasn't sure... and I don't think it can be Jondralyn because it's in the wrong area geographically... so I may just have to make a name up.

You can still order the discs, but it's no longer available on "Watch it Now" and I have a Netflix box, so that was what I was trying to watch it on.

I think you can give it whatever name you wish.
That's the tower they use whenever they are outside the People's Palace but still in Rahl territory. Sometimes it stands for a mord sith temple, sometimes it's just a building. (In the second season it's usually the temple where the pool is. Something starting with "j".)

Sorry for not being more helpful. And I'm happy to see you are working. :)

This was actually really helpful!

I don't think it's in the right place to be Jondralyn because Jennsen had to be close enough to Richard to get there in one night without using magic, and Jondralyn is always near this big sandy/deserty kind of place.

I went with it being a Mord'Sith temple called Verwirren.

Glad you're glad I'm working. ^^

I'm not entirely sure about Jondralyn being near a desert. I checked it quickly (- what a hard-working girl I am... -); that was the temple where Rahl kept his treasure in the episode "Walter", and that episode had lots of forest scenes too.
I think as long as you don't contradict yourself you are free to do almost whatever you like with the geography of the Midlands. And that's a cool power. :)

I did hope you wouldn't be able to stay away from the universe, because it's great to read your works. It's clear you like your heroes, but you manage to keep them in character, you don't try to make them look better, and that's a hard thing to do when you choose a villain to be your protagonist.

Yeah, there are forests around the temple, but every time they're in Jondrayln it doesn't seem to take the characters very long to get to/from a big deserty place(Tears, Reckoning) / the sea (Tears, Walter).

And I'm thinking that the one in Fever had to be a different one.

One thing I love about DR is his flaws. It makes him more human in the worst possible way.

Glad you think they're in character, and thanks for your help!

I know it's a Mord'Sith temple, but don't know the location.
