Following Scott McCall's rise to alpha status, Derek Hale leaves Beacon Hills and decides to go back to school. No one is more surprised than he is when he gets an acceptance letter to Stanford University. Refusing to be left behind in a literal pack of teenagers, Peter Hale follows Derek and gets a job as a professor of mythology at Stanford. There, they are reunited with Lydia Martin when she unwittingly takes one of Peter's classes to fulfill a humanities requirement. While she at first wants nothing to do with them, in a city full of omegas, hunters, and other supernatural beings, by the end of one week she's decided that with Derek and Peter, it's better the wolf you know.
