I feel like a New Year's resolution of mine should be to start writing in this again. I go through this all the time though, so we will see how long this lasts this time! I deleted all of my old posts except for my Alice Nine wishlist.
I did a lot of shopping this holiday season, so I'm pretty broke right now. It's okay though, I have a lot of things to keep me occupied instead of going out this winter. My '97 Cavalier recently bit the dust, so I'm slightly carless. I'm using my mom's Grand Am, but it's terrible in the snow. Surprisingly, my Cavalier was a beast in the snow. I never spun out or even felt like I was going to. However, the first time I drove the Grand Am in the snow I almost hit a pole! A couple of days ago I was driving my Cavalier home from my friend's house in Stow, which is about 30 minutes from my house. I was only on the highway for like 10 or less minutes before I realized my car was running super hot. I turned off the heat, I don't really know why, I just did. Maybe I thought it would help or something, but it didn't and my car got into the red on the... thermometer-looking thing, so I pulled over. I got out of my car and saw it was smoking from the hood quite a bit! I was freaking out!! Then I realized I locked my fucking keys in the car like a dumbass!! I called Andrew and had him come get me. Some nice passerby must have called the cops because they arrived before my friend did. I explained to them why I was pulled over on the highway and then told them that I locked my keys in the car like a dumbass. I must have looked pathetic! Andrew finally arrived and then I decided I better call my mom. My parents usually go to sleep at around 10PM, and it was 10:30PM. I just kept calling until she answered and I told her what was going on. She was pretty mad and kept asking me if I could drive it home and I kept saying no. While I was on the phone with her I was listening to the cop and Andrew trying to talk to me. The cop had me open the hood and he said there was no coolant in my car and that I had a leak. Eventually we decided it would be best if I just left the car there overnight. I was really upset and flustered about the whole situation. The next day my dad drove me back to the car. It was fun trying to find it because they recently built a taller wall between the highways, so it was difficult trying to see the car from the other side of the highway. We did find it and I stayed in the car while my dad went to check it out. He bought parts for the car thinking it must have been a busted hose of some kind. While I was sitting in his truck the cars passing must have been going at least 100MPH because his whole truck was shaking all over the place. It was scary! He came back and said I had a full thing of coolant, so who knew what the cop was looking at. We decided to drive it to a parkinglot so he could look at it better without all the crazy highway traffic. He eventually couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and we decided to try driving it home. Well, it started getting hot again so I made him go back into another parkinglot. He finally figured it must be the thermostat and drove me home in his truck because he wasn't sure how long it would take. Well, a couple hours or so later I was standing in the kitchen and saw my Cavalier sitting outside of our driveway and I'm like, "umm.. why did he drive it home, did he fix it??" The answer is no, he couldn't find the thermostat so he drove the ticking time bomb death trap of a car home. He said everytime it got hot he just pulled over and coasted until it cooled back down all the way home. We then had to drive back out to Stow AGAIN to pick up his truck. By this time it was snowing. It wasn't just snowing though; the snowflakes where HUGE! We were looking over the Transportation Blvd bridge and couldn't see anything past it. It was pretty crazy! I drove the Grand Am home just find until we got off the highway. As soon as I made a turn the car went sliding all over the place. After driving the Cavalier all winter last year I was used to the way it handled. It handles amazing in the snow! I got it under control but not until I hit a curb ^^; whoops. It might have been because the snow was so slushy that it was so bad, but I don't know. I guess my dad's 4-wheel drive truck was having problems in it too, so I don't feel too bad. I just don't know how to drive like that since I didn't have to deal with a shitty snow car last year. The cavalier has been sitting in the garage ever since. So, I doubt I'll be going anywhere this winter when it starts snowing again if I have to drive the stupid Grand Am.
I've been to the mall so much this winter break! It's completely ridiculous how much I've been to the mall. We got so bored of the malls around here, so we drove 2 hours to Easton in Columbus. It wasn't actually the mall we were aiming for, but it was a good mistake because this mall was amazing! It had the biggest Forever 21 I've ever seen. I got lost! I had this adorable shirt I wanted to buy, but I needed a smaller size and couldn't find it again - -;; So, I didn't buy it. As amazing as this mall was, I actually didn't buy much from it. I like what I did buy though!
grey footless tights from Forever 21
blue and yellow bow headbands from Forever 21 (they were only a dollar!! what a steal!)
cardigan from H&M
I actually don't own any cardigans, but this one is really cute. Though, I'm completely sick of the grey, white, brown, and black colors this season. I need color in my life!! Bring on spring! I was feeling a little down that I didn't come back with the amount of clothes I wanted, so I went shopping again today at Strongsville mall (one of my faves) and came out much better!
blue and white dress, grey striped, and blue tops from Charlotte Russe
purple striped top from Body Central
This is more what I was looking for. I'm really happy to have some new stuff. I have a few Sailor Moon related purchases to post about, but that won't be until I receive them all in the mail. One is pretty big for me as I've wanted it for a very long time. I'm really excited!
Tomorrow I am going to what we call "The Valley" for New Years Eve. It's a series of bars, so if one sucks or is to crowded we can just find another one! I haven't been drinking lately, so hopefully I don't get overzealous with it haha I really don't want to be super hungover for craft day on the 1st. I don't really do crafts, so I just draw while everyone else does crafts of some kind! I'm just not that crafty XD
Next post should be about drawings I've been working on. Bye bye!
