There is a light at the end of the tunnel, just seems so far away....

Today is the day James was supposed to be home after a LONG year in Iraq. That all changed a few weeks ago when they told him he's one of two lucky guys in the squad that get to babysit the vehicles in Kuwait. After about 3 weeks of date changes, it looks like it could be the 21st or 28th that he should arrive in Schweinfurt. How frustrating to be surrounded by the homecomings and soldiers coming back, when I know James is just sitting there in Kuwait doing absolutely nothing. On the plus side, he was able to call earlier. I just love those ripoff AT&T phone cards where a 100 min card gives you 13 minutes when calling Kuwait to Germany. He said majority of the time it appears as though they'll be sitting around just waiting for the time to pass. What's the point of being there if they're not going to be working on the tracks? Why make these guys wait around for nothing? Grrrr.

One good thing did come of this day...Obadiah is being an absolute ANGEL for me. This as most of you know is far from normal for that dog. After last night with the fire in the apt building, clearing the smoke, and Oba getting that muzzle off twice even when rigged....today Oba is definitely making up for it. He has let me sleep, relax, and bum around with barely any whining. Every nap I took, he took one with me. What a relaxing day at home with the basset.
