When it rains, it is much with the pouring
Maybe this is a result of the Korean influence on my upbringing, I'm not certain, but sometimes I just really want to respond to some people, "And why are you using such a familiar tone with me?" I just got a message from someone I know but am not really friends with; frankly, he's a bit clingy and keeps trying to hang out and I keep trying to politely turn him down, and in the message he says, "Hey, cutie, how's break?" Cutie? How does he think I'm okay with him addressing me like that? He's not a friend, nor have I been even the slightest bit flirty with him. At the most, I would term him a distant acquaintance and mostly that because we come from the same home town and I was in band with his brother. He also asked me if I had plans for New Year's, which, knowing him, makes me worried he wants to ask me to do something, but luckily I can quite honestly say I'll be out of town. He's shown up a few times at one of the student orgs I'm in and I hope it's just because he's interested in what the organization does, but I'm not certain. >_<
In a related topic, the guy I thought was gay, but turned out to be straight and asked me on a date the next day (Thursday), messaged me again on Friday (I hadn't yet written back) to ask if he had been too forward in asking me out so suddenly. I wrote back and said he was a bit and indicated I'm not interested in him as anything but friends. Tonight is sushi with Holly and him as kinda a "but we can be friends" thing (at least I hope he realizes that, I'll be sure to make it clear tonight). I hope it's not too awkward. I'm dreading this a bit, but I feel like I have to go out of politeness.
Oh, and I'm way behind with my costume. I may not get it done by Ohayocon. I'm making progress on the wig (I haven't been able to get over to Amanda's to do the dress), and if nothing else I hope to have the wig in enough shape for the pajama jam, because I bought the insanely expensive PJs.
If I get the wig fully done but not the outfit, I may wear the wig with a different outfit on Saturday as a "Wicked Lady Does Punk," "Wicked Lady Goes on a Picnic," "Wicked Lady Goes to the Club," or something. I honestly have no idea which outfit I'd pair it with at the moment. Maybe my black wings with the green glitter?
