Day 4: Tinapalooza 2008

Card for day 4:

When Alice arrived in the new land, she was quite excited to explore each nook and cranny. "I cannot wait to sight-see," Alice declared. From above, she heard a chuckle, "Sight-see? but what else would you see with if not your sight? If you can't help but use too many words all the time, I do not think you'll have time to see everything. After all, you could be seeing your third impossible thing, but instead, you'll still want to ______ about the first one." Alice looked up to see a smiling cat in a tree. "Well it is awfully rude of you to comment upon other people's habits," said Alice. "Perhaps _____ person should worry about themselves and not concern themselves with other people's business or habits." With that, Alice strode away to begin exploring the land of Ka and Adia.

Words were: "gab" and "each."

25 of: balloons (conveniently, the balloons came in a package of 25 with a pump).

Also, I gave her a three cd compilation of music from Fraggle Rock.

OMG. Today was such a full day. We did so much even though we didn't even leave the hotel until 2 p.m. It was a day of wandering about town and popping into whatever shops looked interesting.

We started by going to Queen's Way West (which has a bunch of fun clothes and other little shops). I bought a new leather bracelet (this one had a skull, O-rings, and chains), an Alice in Wonderland key chain for Tina* (in the classiest cannibas themed store I have ever been in. The clerk was so nice and really cool. She also loves Alice in Wonderland. ^^), and other stuff. Oh, buttons, got a lot of good buttons ("Proud to be everything the right wing hates" and more). Went into many over-priced clothing stores. Tina bought a great hat (she got other stuff too, but I'll let her post her stuff in her LJ. ^^) Found a hat I loved, but I thought it didn't fit, but it turns out it was just the fact I had my hair in a bun, so I'm going back tomorrow and I hope it's still there.

Got a new ring to wear during belly dance performances. Left it in the bathroom of a restaurant. Came back hours later and someone had turned it in to the counter! I love Canada! People are so nice! Though Tina commented that the ring may perfect for belly dance, but it's otherwise very gaudy, so maybe the person who found it just didn't want it. ^_~ I love the ring -- it's red coral set in silver.

Went into a condom store. Nothing special. Nothing we couldn't get back home.

At some point we wandered north to the Korean section of town. On the way, passed through the Chinese section. Found a store where I got a fabulous scarf (meant for around neck, but of course my thought was "Oooohhh! This will make a great hip scarf!) and a great flowy, long black skirt with some bead work.

Heard a Backstreet Boys song while walking that got stuck in my head. Annoying.

Walked by campus. Saw some cats and a black squirrel! ^_^ Wandered about the Korean section of town. Had tasty food in a nice, little place full of Koreans. (generally a good sign for any sort of ethnic food restaurant is when it's full of people of that ethnicity. ^^)

Bought a new Korean game (well, new to me). It's kinda like jacks.

Wandered through the Annex section of town.

About this time, we had to return to the hotel to get ready for dinner, so we hopped a cab and it drove us through the gay section of town. :D Must visit next time we're in Toronto. It's really cool that it's an official section of town, complete with the official flags with the section name lining the road (Giant rainbow flags) and the street signs in that area have a nice rainbow stripe on them!

Dinner was in the CN tower, in a revolving restaurant. *Amazing* food. Had oysters on the half-shell, an amazing salmon with moroccan couscous, a fabulous dark chocolate dessert, and a tasty wine (perfectly complimented the olive and citrus flavors in the salmon). Oh! And Tina didn't eat all her soup so I got some! The restuarant is 1150 ft. from the ground! So we were quite high up! Glorious! And after dinner, we went to the observation deck below (1136 ft.), which has a section with a glass floor so it looks like you're standing above nothing!!! Andy and Tina practically had to drag me away from it, it was so fun!! :D They both kinda think I'm a freak because of that. ;D Just your feet, seemingly suspended by nothing above the twinkley lights ever so far below! ^_^ Magical! Oh, and the elevator had a window, so as we decended, I got to look at the ground rushing towards us. ^^

Now, we are again hanging out in the hotel, Andy is watching the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony and we're kinda watching, too. But time for bed soon and then another fabulous day!

Tina is loving this trip! W00t, Tinapalooza! ^___^

*Side note to self and sister: I was all stealthy with the key chain! Uh-huh. **nods** ^_~
