Day 3: Tinapalooza 2008

Card for day 3:

Oddly, Alice found the path led her right back home. "Pack up!" directed the lemur, "sleep can always be done at a time other than now." "But, I'm so very tired, and my ______ is calling so very pleasantly," Alice declared sadly. "If you must, sleep in the conveyance." and the lemur ______ her to enter the song and ride along the shoe lined path."

The words were "bed" and "bade."

There were 25 stickers and the "present" of the day was her empty suitcase with a tag that said "Fill me."

Tina got off work at approx. 3:30 a.m., woke me up (as I instructed her) and then solved the puzzle and started packing. I went back to be until 7 a.m. At that point, Andy walked out into the living room and asked Tina if she was ready to go. Tina, who had no idea Andy was there and had been hiding in my room, screamed (in a happy way).

We then headed off to Toronto. ^_^ Tina slept in the car the whole way there pretty much. When we arrived at the hotel* in Toronto (which is amazing, btw. Thank you Andy!!!) When Tina wasn't looking, I tied "Choose Me" around some travel guides and a map of Toronto. After she found it, I let her know I had nothing planned for the weekend (save one thing) and she could pick whatever she wanted to do.

Next was the Bata Shoe Museum which was actually really, really cool. They had shoes going all the way back hundreds and, for a few, thousands of years and had history and cultural notes about use and production on them as well. Points of interest, a Knight's boot from armor, a section on Rococco shoes, hand beaded Native American shoes, hand quilled Native American shoes, shoes with three to four inch spikes on the bottom, and an amazing knee-high, leather boot sculpture! O.O

Afterwards, we wandered down the street for dinner (we realized we had only had breakfast so far!) and ended up at an Amazing Italian restaurant called "Serra." Much tasty food and some tasty wine was consumed. We were in the University of Toronto area of town, which was apparent from the clientele of the restaurant -- all professors. xD

Now, we're back at the hotel, took a nap while Tina planned the weekend, woke up, Tina explained her plan, and we're now waiting for room service while we pick a movie to buy. Enchanted looks most likely. ^^

The "shoe-lined path" on the card referred to the shoe museum. The "bade her to enter the song" refers to the fact that Andy's card is a Sonata.

*Hotel description: We're at The Suites of 1 King West. The room has a living room with nice pull out couch and chair, a funky coffee table, a little kitchenette with stove top, dishwasher, washer and dryer, microwave, and cubbies for wine. The bedroom and bathroom are also quite swank. Very tastefully decorated. ^^
