Prop 8 is the amendment on the ballot in California that would ban gay marriage. As I understand things, it looked like it was going to be defeated until a recent wave of advertising in favor of the amendment. Now we're trailing by about 5%. Gay rights groups are trying to fight back, but don't have as much money to throw at advertising. (I'm kind of astonished by how much money people are willing to use to stop gay marriage -- it's very weird). Anyway, help out if you can!
