Gio Ash just took to the sling like a duck to water. Not even time to go "WTF?" over it, he just settled right in and started nursing in it. It's taking ME longer to get used to it again, in fact.
My milk is mostly in on the left and about halfway in on the right.
He's started to turn orange, as expected.
Soaked his first diaper about 24 hours ago; the plumbing works. First bowel movement today was less meconium, more actual digestion and Matt said it smelled different. His very favorite diapers are the Kissaluv size 0 fitteds; they're also easiest with the umbilical stump, so we've got the three we have in high rotation. Soft and fluffy on the baby butt and bits; no wonder he likes them. I would too!
Remember those Sckoon kimono onsies I got for Ro? Have them on Ash; they're a bit big on him, being in the 3-6mo range, but PERFECT for keeping him warm and covered and still being loose enough to let the umbilical stump air out, and they mean we don't have to undress him totally every time we change him.
He's a very mellow baby, as expected. His eyes are newborn blue, but I can see where they're going to change already; my bet is to Matt's jade green.
The cute noise generator is in full effect; he's making little cooing noises in his sleep.
I DEFINITELY need the wool breast pads. The difference is amazing. It's Raynaud's, sure enough.
Still haven't adjusted. That was a SERIOUSLY fast labor; I actually don't recommend it because it was so incredibly intense, though from what I gather even with that much "WHOOM" it still wasn't as bad as pitocin contractions.
